Can someone please explain to a tragically unhip doofus from upstate NY what that gesture that he does right at the end of the clip is supposed to mean? (hands up by helmet, elbow out) I've seen Jordan Babineaux and Steve McNair do it too.
That's a great montague. I didn't remember him having that many blasts, but I guess it's true. Especially on QB's, I remember him more back in coverage, but he apparently plays closer to the line on occasion.
Just one suggestion: the video needs "Hit Me Like a Hammer" playing in the background. But not the original version--Huey Lewis & the News doesn't seem like a Hamlin-style band. I think it should be a cover of that song by Slipknot or somebody like that; (Godsmack, or Bill Parcells' grunge band, Gravelthigh?). Someone ruthless on the stage, usually affable off the field of play, but with a mean streak that is deeply ingrained (like Bill O'Rielly, or Eric Cartman.)
Hopefully Hamlin can come back strong and regain his nickname as the "Osama Bin Laden of the Gridiron" with his ruthless, yet somewhat overblown crackbacks on the West [Coast Offense.]
Awesome, return of the Hammer. Maybe when he returns he'll be really P.O.'d and bring back the Ghost of Easley. Loved the vid. It's got me wound up for the season to come.
As far as the little dance he did, duno, maybe he's stretching his way out of the womb or sumpin.
I think it's the 'fighting the way out of the womb' thing JoSCh was referring to. He's got his hands up around his neck pointed out, which make it look like he is trying to stretch the vaginal opening wide enough for his shoulder pads. Birth canals rule.
alba i really can't hrlp you here. Everybody does it but i really don't know what it means, itsm just something that everyone does after making a big play. It's not just football either they do it basketball too. I know one thing though JoSCh and Blue are not right.
A friend told me a little while ago what it was, he told me that Shaq started it, he apparantly used to do that after he made key baskets, and it caught on. No clue what it means though.
Citizen K blinked, but he didn't want to give Blue the satisfaction of knowing it. Now that indirect props have been given to the line, I'd also like to offer my hearty and fervent congratulations on the LOL funny line. Citizen K has no disagreement with the statement, and since it's at the moment Mother's Day, it is quite the appropriate sentiment. Cheers to thee, and here's hoping you find no defense up the middle in your drive toward the end zone.
Uhhh, Blue. JoSCh hasn't got a sick enough mind to come up with the "Womb Stretch" crack...No pun intended, There is only one mind that is demented enough for this level of mental instability......mE.
I love that clip.

ReplyDeleteRomeo is my favorite Montague.
F-ing AWESOME vid! I didn't remember the Boldin hit resulting in an interception, prolly didn't see that game though, so thats why. Fav-ruh is a punk!
ReplyDeleteAlba, don't know, but it almost looks like a real aggressive baby being born, dontcha think? Ewwww.
Work blocks me from the flooble replacement... dunno why, but they block IM too. Bastages!

Uff: You slay me.
ReplyDeleteIt is possible, given the evidence presented here, that Ken Hamlin is Jesus.
ReplyDeleteI'm not even joking.
(sorry if I posted that already. Comp's been weird)
Alba could you be talking about the Sprinkler? I cant watch the video yet so I dunno...
ReplyDeleteNO, ADP, I'd recognize The Sprinkler.
ReplyDeleteIt's more of a gesture almost making wings with his hands at the sides of his head, with the hands turned out.
Like THIS

ReplyDeleteBut what does it MEAN??!!!
ReplyDeleteI really need to know.
Where's Meezy when you need him. I'll bet a brother would know what that's all about.

ReplyDeleteBluefoot drops the line, "Birth canals rule," and no one blinks.

ReplyDeleteGracious thanks!
ReplyDelete././ 'Green turf and end zones forever' ././
Stay away from the other end zone with no turf, just dirt. Some still consider it scoring, but all it does is make your uni brown and get mom mad.
finally watched the video...no answer for ya. Im pretty sure its a 'muscle taunt coupled with the Hogan's can you hear it thing'...
ReplyDeleteI know I used to know...from the Rockafeller one to the West/Eastside ones...remember I grew up in a ghetto...
It's (that hand gesture) a fraternity sign.
ReplyDeleteNaww...
ReplyDeleteWhat fraterninty?

ReplyDeleteSo much for not blinking.... ;)
ReplyDeleteThat lil' hand gesture has been popular in College FB for a number of years now. A close relative of the " upside down push up".
ReplyDeleteHa, ha! Blue you're a bad, bad man.
