It's True- Simmons to be Cut

In this morning's PI, Clare Farnsworth reports Simmons will be cut, confirming the earlier report on ESPN.com from John "I was Alf's dad on TV" Clayton.

He will be missed. Heck, he was injured so much (missing 27 games the last three seasons), we already missed him.

Me not do math good. Anybody know where this will put us, cap-wise?

It's Go Time

Well, 40 minutes ago the free agency period started. Agents and FO staff are frantically working the phone all over the country.

The kids are in bed, I've got my sweats on, and a tall cold one on my old scratched AOL cd coaster. I'll have one eye on the boards and the other on the ESPN ticker, and I'll be back to post if there's any news.

GO SEAHAWKS!!!

How about another Brown?

I see that the Pats released Troy, we could use a WR/KR/DB especially if we lose Taylor. What do you guys think?

Simmons to be Cut?

Quote from John Clayton on ESPN.com:

March 1, 2005
Seahawks sending Simmons packing?
The Seahawks are considering cutting outside linebacker Anthony Simmons. Even though Simmons is considered one of their best play-makers on defense, the team has tired of his long struggles with injuries. A couple of years ago, Simmons had 4.4 speed, and he still is fast. They loved him in a division that featured Marshall Faulk because Simmons had the ability to cover him. Now, the Seahawks think he is overpaid and want to move a different direction. He has a $500,000 roster bonus due by March 7.

If he's overpaid on account of injuries, what is to be thought of Chad Brown? It seems Simmons has played more games of late and has more left in the tank than Chad.

This just doesn't ring true. What do you think?
