Do The Seahawks Have Another Championship Run In Them?

There's a Yogi-like saying in the NFL that goes 'if you're not improving, you're getting worse', and while it seems to be an overly obvious statement, it's actually quite profound.

Thanks to impatient owners, the salary cap, and free agency, the one constant in the NFL is change, and it's already started to affect the Seahawks, with three new coaches added to Holmgren's staff, and two key front office executives interviewing with other franchises.

The Seahawks have a championship caliber nucleus of offensive players with Matt Hasselbeck, Shaun Alexander and Walter Jones, and a stable of talented and interchangeable receivers. Watching these guys being hobbled by injury this year though begs the question, how many more years of dominance do they have left?

  1. This defense is young and should get better. the o-line and Wr's are young. hass is 30 but is still young cause he didn't start much should be good another 4-5 years.

Alexander has another good to great 2 years in him before we need a new RB.

I don't see us needing a big rebuilding stage. Draft well let people grow into the system Look at the Patriots.

We should 3 out of the 4 Superbowls starting next year.

You heard it from me first.

  2. Why should the Pats be the only repeaters on the block?

  3. I posted this at the fanhouse but thought it deserved a little 12 street action as well.

Rebuild time after 2 years? I think not. First, lets address our humble leader, Matt. He's mearly 30 years old. the optimum age for a superbowl winning QB is 33. I expect him to be an elite QB until he is 35 at least, barring the un-imaginable. Our defense is young, very young and needs just a bit of tweaking to get it to where it needs to be for a very long time. If people think that Leinart, Vince Young ect. are just going to take over in their 2nd and 3rd seasons leaving Manning, Hass, McNabb and Brady in their dust, then they need to think again. QB's need time to become championship caliber. Grossman, I believe is a bit of a fluke and will not likely be around long. reality took over mid season for him and looking at the numbers, it shows.
I agree with Holms, we are built for the long haul and he proved that we are good enough, even with plug and play as a last resort, that we can make a run at it anytime.
