John Clayton is reporting on ESPN.com that Rocky Bernard has agreed to keep the Sugar Bear Shake in Seattle for 3 more years, with a $13M deal that includes a $5.8M signing bonus.
The Chiefs flew in Bernard on Tuesday and were trying to talk him into a contract. The Seahawks kept in touch the entire time and wouldn't let him go.
In other news, Seattle has also agreed to a one-year $1M contract with free agent WR/PR Peter Warrick, as well as hosting visits with John Abraham, Julian Peterson and Lawyer Milloy.
My guess is the Seahawks have decided what they're going to do with Hutch, and are now "getting busy" in free agency while they tie up $49M of the Vikings money.
I LOVE IT!
GO SEAHAWKS!!!
That seems like pretty good $$ for the Rock. 4.3 yearly cap hit average. Will be interesting to see what year 3 pays. Nice signing.

Definitely. He's a goot fit in the rotation system here. I don't know if he'd be as effective as an every-down DT, but he gets real good numbers for his PT.
ReplyDeleteNow if we could land Abraham...
I really like where this defense is going. Period.

Geez, looks like the sky isn't falling and the FO is not asleep at the wheel like some folks were wondering in Seahawk-land earlier this week!

That just shows you the mindset of the Stupidhawks! "We can't get our offensive lineman, so we'll overpay for a pathetic, undersized, weakling of a D-liner." Har har, Chicken fans; KC will be in Miami next February because they won't have to deal with a gaping hole in their line allowing 200-yard rushers every Sunday like the Hawks now will. Miami in February! WOOT!

MIAMI IN FEBRUARY!!!!
ReplyDeleteI like the Rocky signing. Boy, if they land Abraham or Peterson, they could have a sick line that just keeps rotating fresh meat every freakin' play. Is it legal to sign both Abraham and Peterson? Think about being able to rotate Wistom, Fisher, Abraham, Peterson, along with Darby, Tubbs, Rocky and whoever.
ReplyDeleteI heard Len Pascarelli on the radio this morning about Hutch. He said that teams have to match the "spirit" of a offer sheet, not match it exactly. He also said that the Hawks were in contact with the League about whether the poison pills are covered by that rule. Either way Len thought you don't put that much money into guard--even one as good as Hutch.

ReplyDeletehi guys...i knew something would happen when i went back to sleep
that said...looks like he got starter money...should be interesting
oh...and I know one of you likes this...:
THE GLOVES ARE OFF!!!
he could've gotten much more, i'm sure. i would think his signing with seattle as an indication that he WANTED to play here rather than go anywhere else for more money. we had good success this year with the rotating tackle system, so i think this is a good investment for someone who already knows and works well within this system.
ReplyDeleteAND...we can keep saying YOOOO ADRRRRIAAAANNNNNNEEE
ReplyDeleteoh and hi Brett...good to see you back for a bit

Wow this is cool. I never really thought that Rocky would be back but boy am i glad. The guy can play and he's only getting better. He might be the starter nect year.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy about the Warrick signing too. When he is healthy he is crazy good. He's a perfect fit for our system, he's quick and can turn a 5 yard reception into 25 yards when he's at 100%.
Please sign Abraham that would make us lead the league in sacks again.

I thought there is the least chance to resign him compared to otehr players such Manuel and Jurevicius. Ilove it.
