So long, Mr. Unlucky Hooker!

Well, it's official.

We've lost the man who effortlessly caught everything, he was named the "unlucky hooker".

Going to the Browns for 4 years and $10 million, so it seems obvious why the front office bid him farewell. With his history of injuries, and a 19-game season with significant playing time added to his odometer, it's a pretty rich contract for a guy with seemingly little tread left on his tires.

We lost Marquand Manuel today to the Packers too, for a very similar contract, which again, is a lot to pay a backup up Safety.

Here's to both of them having continued success in Cleveland and Green Bay, and here's to Ken Hamlin's health and D.J. Hackett's maturity!

GO SEAHAWKS!!!!

  1. Sad to see Vicious go. Without him stepping up, this past season turns out a lot differently. Hope he does well with Cleveland.

  2. Indeed. However, if Bobby and DJack stayed healthy last year, no way JJ has as big an impact.

We were in a battle we couldn't win for him, as he really wanted to play for his home town Browns. I just wish Trent would get some playing time and a chance to reap the befefits of JJ's great hands.

Manuel was a no win situation too, as he was bound to get better money starting for someone else, ala Ken Lucas.

Can't wait until Ruskell & Co. starts cherry picking the diamonds in the rough in a week or so.

  4. I'd love to see JJ make it to Miami with the Browns. Imagine a Browns/Seahawks superbowl! Might be tough for ratings....

If I remember correctly, it would break the NFL record for superbowls with different teams. He'd have all the limelight until the Seahawks won the game...

  5. Finneran... yes. He won't be getting a big paycheck from anyone, much less us or the Falcons, and he's gotta be tired of catching bounce passes from Vick. Good call Freak.

"Can't wait until Ruskell & Co. starts cherry picking the diamonds in the rough in a week or so. " No kidding, I love getting irritated -> excited about the Chuck Darby's of the world.

"Imagine a Browns/Seahawks superbowl!" Uggh, I'd rather not ,listening to the media bitch would be horrifying. Although it would be quick work for our boys unless the Steamers make gigantic strides. I don't think a JJ signing puts them over the top (or over .500 for that matter).

    CLASSIC

Here's to JJ enjoying his career in his home town, turning down the bigger money to go where he wants. I respect that, and have no hard feelings. Good luck JJ, and thanks for the great season and helping to cure the Seahawks' case of dropsy.

I do worry about our depth/talent at WR now, however. Go git 'em Rusky.
