Alba's Dark Angel Award

Click Image for Alba Illustrated MessageIf ever there was a game that needed a little help from a Dark Angel, this was it. The Seahawks seemed stuck in neutral again, and went into half time down two touchdowns, looking like a team that was truly cursed.

But the second half was a "whole nuther story," providing key plays and defining moments, and several candidates for this week's Dark Angel Award, recognizing the individual who rises to the challenge to have a positive affect on the outcome of the game.

The Seahawks, not traditionally a team that makes great second half adjustments, were a completely different team after the intermission, so the first nominee for this award was Coach Mike Holmgren, whose fire and brimstone halftime speech seemed to have its desired effects. But while I'd like to reward him for administering the kick-in-the-ass the team desperately needed, and for remaining committed to the run even though trailing, we need to recognize that it's his job to have these guys ready to play, and it would be nice if they were engaged and focused for all four quarters of the game.
