KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Seattle Seahawks said Thursday they have signed 2005 seventh-round draft choice Cornelius Wortham, a linebacker from Alabama, to a multiyear contract.
Wortham was the 235th overall selection in the NFL draft. He was the third Seahawks draft choice to sign a contract after fifth-round choice Jeb Heckeba, a defensive end, and seventh-round pick Doug Nienhuis, a guard.
Terms were not disclosed.
"We got cajun shrimp, shimp salad, shrimp fondue, shrimp butter, shrimp ala mode, shrimp surprise, shrimp rinds, shrimp coffee... And that's about it."
ReplyDeleteYou forgot Shrimp Scampie.
ReplyDeleteAnd Shrimp Ala Mode.....Yuk.

ReplyDeleteNeed a pic of him and Huck-a-bee (Arkansas, Alabama, whatever, Little Rock is a fine town...) so we can break out the "You twins?", "No, we are not relations sir."

This thread seems like a good one to mention one of the more positive rumors I've heard about the proposed CBA. From what I hear, they're talking about putting in a maximum salary and bonus structure for rookies. Something close to the same structure the NBA has. And much like the NBAs age restriction rule, the NFLPA and the Owners both like this idea. The only ones against it are the agents.
ReplyDeleteI love it, get those rooks signed and in camp!

Crap, I didn't use my blog ID. I'm sorry, it's early.
ReplyDeletethat would be a good idea...i like the NBA's new rules...(though Jerome James being paid 30 mill for 5 fouls (6 with Seattle, including the daily phantom foul we get for every player...even Robert Swift), 4 points, and a whopping 4 rebounds...ouch...hes one of only 1,000,000 players with a career cuatro-cuatro!
ReplyDeletethat aside...i like the idea...Sean Taylor, whom i had high hopes for, is makin me sick...
they need a rule to make rookies honor their contract...its their dumbness if they sign a 5 year deal or whatever
ADP, were you actually watching the Sonics late in the season? JJ was putting up serious numbers.

Yeah, he scored 86 points against the kings. Thats hardly all he did last season. He put up another 51 points against the Spurs.
ReplyDeleteOther notable games in the regular season were, 10 against the Mavs, 13 against the Kings, 22 against the Grizzlies, 14 Blazers, 12 Pistons, 12 Suns, 16 Pistons, 13 Pacers, 10 Warriors, 12 Suns, 12 Spurs, 11 Timberwolves and 12 against the Lakers. Blocked 134 shots and 31 steals. All this from a guy that is sposed to be just a rebounder.
This season was really a break out season and he was a lot of fun to watch. I really wanted to see him return. He had a serious chip on his shoulder about being cut by the Kings and was getting a huge chance to prove them wrong for dumping him.

In fact, he was proving to be a real dependable guy when Rashard lewis was taking a dump and injured and even covered for Ray a couple of games.
