monkey's Banana Peel Award

The award given to the offensive and defensive players who best slip up the opposition.

Everyone say it with me now...THE SEAHAWKS ARE IN THE NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!!! It really doesn't get much better than this...but wait...it will!

Had I said to Seahawks fans before the game started, that the Seahawks would lose Shaun Alexander to a concussion in the first quarter, and that the Seahawks would give up three turnovers and get none against the stingy Redskins defense, those Seahawks fans would all groan and say "oh man, here we go again, why can't we win a playoff game?"

Well, it's true...all that did happen, the turnovers the loss of the leagues MVP, and the Seahawks STILL won! My Banana Peel Awards, will explain why.

  1. Actually, I was the only one who thought the Shaun injury wouldnt be as bad as people thought, giving the opportunity to show off our team that isnt just him...obviously in a game of that magnitude, i wasnt happy he was gone

I freaked out when DJack left...two major injuries, i started cursing our horrible luck

And Lofa...sweet Lofa...he did the EXACT same thing his teammates said he was doing in the College Football Championship game---calling out the opponent's plays before the ball is snapped...watching him all year, hes done this stuff consistently...but i dont think his leadership stood out more then it did in that game...

every single play, he was doing something with the dline, secondary, and such...hes even played great coverage all year, and has more speed then people let on...but that 40 yarder was OUTSTANDING

Matt, and Lofa the two leaders of the their respective sides of the ball...deserved the most recognition, though DJack did end the talk of drops, and played very physical...making some outstanding catches

  4. "Actually, I was the only one who thought the Shaun injury wouldnt be as bad as people thought, "... gonna need some predictions for next weeks games... c'mon, pre-game ones.

Agree monkey, Matt was outstanding, he runs this offense as well as it can be. When he ran that one in I was jumping up and down screaming. The 2 Slurs fans in attendence at my house were shocked. How can an immobile QB run on their awesome D? Giraffe on ice indeed!

Lofa... can anymore be said? I mean other than the obvious problems with his size, speed, and the fact that he didn't sack Peyton Manning (therefore couldn't win ROY), I don't see how. Amazing player, amazing pick, amazing TEAM!
