but whatever, im not even gonna break down that matchup in a couple days...im just gonna relax for now...

im stunned...try to take a moment and deeply put in your head...its so surreal and weird!

  8. I like the situation the seahawks are going to be in going into the superbowl. Vegas, as well as every expert is going to be going against them. Which basically makes them a darkhorse with absolutely nothing to lose. Which is probably the most dangerous team you want to play.

im just so happy for the ppl who have been there for those years, the fans, Zorn...few years for me and ive been in an emotional rollercoaster since...i couldnt imagine the pain of everyone else...

this team is great...i may never seen them in person, but i buy their stuff, so i am part of this team, and i am the 12th man (or 13th if you will!)

  16. OMG... I hope ya'll caught trent interviewing shaun...

    I'll try to paraphrase...

Trent: You were a little shaken up from the concussion, how were you going into this game?

Shaun: The first hit I took was on a blitz pickup from Minter. He stuck me good. He said, "Yeah, I'm gonna bring that all day." And I said, "I think y'all just woke me up. Now your in big trouble."

Not exact quotes, but pretty close. I really like that attitude.

That's exactly the way I'm feeling, too. I totally expected this win, so the aftermath is, for me, kind of anticlimactic. But that's not to say I'm not enjoying it! My friend Henry Weinhard has Reserved a Private room for me tonight...

You guys are feeling the EXACT same way I am. I was WAY more confident going into this game than I was the Redskins game. In fact, I said all along that the Skins were the better of the two teams, so once we got by the matchup I was more afraid of, I KNEW we would beat the one trick pony Panthers.
What I didn't know is that we would OBLITERATE THEM in a HUGE BLOWOUT! The Hawks defense DESTROYED the Panthers, utterly and completely.
We PROVED who the best team in the NFC is, and I would just LOVE to hear people talk about weak schedules NOW!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I wonder how Skip "any sense of propriety and logic" Bayless is feeling about MY Seahawks going to MY Super Bowl? Eat fish eyes, sour puss.

BTW, the 'anticlimactic' comment was C/K, but I echo his sentiments.

Wow. I'm choking up again listening to Raible on the radio. My doodads are in my throat. I have a headache from holding all this emotion back. Replays from games of old, from Dan Doornik, Ken Easley, Dave Kreig, John L, Steve Largent, Curt Warner and others keep replaying in my head as I'm doing dishes, driving, taking a leak, WHATEVER. All this history of players who have struggled to reach this goal with all their heart, but never quite made it - three decades of torturous futility are finally amounting to something. Finally, instead of being the NFL's red-headed stepchild, be are a complete and devastating team without question, and are 60 minutes away from becoming

  35. Actually Positive, I believe (and I could be mistaken, but I'm usually not) that they make ALL of the teams in the championship games, jerseys and hats in advance, as well as the advertising, because that way they hedge their bets. No matter who gets the win, they already have them made and have the advertising out there. My guess is that you could look and find the Broncos ones too.

    ReplyDelete
  36. No prob Monkey, you've wanted Ray out from day one of the season, looks like you'll get your wish.

Though everything I've read had Ray going over film with Marshall making up the game plans.

You can praise Marshall all you want, but it's still Ray's D and Ray's style, nothing's changed but key players (the LBs)and the performance of the players themselves. If they'd been healthy last year the Hawks would have been here sooner. (well that and about 50 more caught balls)

But you're right, let's not go on about it,you go ahead and give your rebut if you want and we'll drop it.

  42. Funny, the Panthers fans don't seem to be around any more. My favorite parts of the game were:

    1. Nick Goings sucking balls, as I predicted.
    2. "Greatest playoff rating ever" Delhomme looking like Kyle Orton.
    3. SENECA WALLACE! Holmes was laying the groundwork for some XL trickery.
    4. The REAL MVP getting his yards and 2 TDs.

Before the game, I felt like I was in Biazarro World. NFC Championship? In Seattle? It was so damn surreal.

  43. >>> Offensive Player of the Week

Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck, whose 20-of-288, 219-yard performance-with two touchdowns, no interceptions and not a bad pass in the whole lot of them -- keyed the Seahawks' first trip to the Super Bowl in 30 years of existence. Like his counterpart in Super Bowl XL, he's a commanding presence with an accurate arm. <<<

    Holy cow! That's like a 0.07% completion percentage! ;)

Congratulations, Hawks fans! You got one to go!

Earlier this season, the 'Skins had a game in Dallas and Dallas decided to retire jerseys or enter players into their ring of honor or something. The 'Skins took it as an insult and whooped them Cowboys.

Now, you got the media talking about one thing: Jerome Bettis is going home! Well, if this is his big farewell party, I say you make it a memorable one. Take down the Steelers and make sure Bettis' homecoming is a depressing one.

    :)

  44. I LOVE THIS TEAM and that graphic is great! Now I'll try to respond to the 50+ comments that came before this one.

    * Ray Rhodes should be kept on as a Defensive Consultant and the D Coordinator job should be Marshalls. Vin, you gotta admit, the defense has been more creative and aggressive since JM took over.

    * Bluefoot - you can say EGADS all you want, but take that stamp collecting trash talk someplace else!

    * it snowed here last night and I was stuck in traffic for over an hour this morning on my usual 6 minute commute to work. It was GREAT hearing all the media pundits eating crow and humble pie FINALLY admitting how great this team really is.

    * I think the Seneca play was somehow directed at Ken Lucas. Not sure WHAT that was all about, but you're probably right, we should look for an option pass flea flicker in XL out of that formation.

    * I bought my NFL Championship hat and T-shirt last night. Oddly enough, the Panther version is not really available!

    * After hearing "HOW YOU GONNA STOP STEVE SMITH" all week, I'm sure all the attention Pittsburgh's gonna get will get our boys fired up and ready to embarass another opponent.

    * Can use that LB jamming at the line ploy on Hines Ward, as Pitt's running game is too good to take a LB out of the box. We don't need to though, our guys can cover Hines Ward on their own.

    That's it for now.

  45. I wonder if the "Dexter Jackson" bit was him messing with us. I know he knows his name. Maybe trying to stir up some hate mail?

Re: Rhodes/Marshall, I doubt anyone goes after them, Holmgren doesn't lose assistants. And Ray will be gone only if his health dictates it, but I like the idea of him being a consultant vice coordinator. I don't think he would though.

Seneca Wallace... BWAHAHAHAHA. That was so awesome.

Thanks Mr. Budda, but everybody knew that Delhomme was the better QB and those stats show it! You can use any stats to prove anything, and if it doesn't work, just throw in an extra number somewhere, lol.

  46. I hope this FINALLY puts to rest the SOFT SCHEDULE bullshit.

Sure the NFC West sucked, but we MADE it suck by kicking the snot out of the other three division members.

Sure we won squeekers over the Giants and Cowboys, and lost a squeeker to the Redskins.

But I think what we did to the Redskins in the playoffs answered THAT question, and what we did to the team that SHUT OUT the Giants should leave no doubt.

This just in, the Bears defense was HORRIBLY OVERRATED, and the Seattle Seahawks continue to be HORRIBLY UNDERRATED.

That's fine. We'll channel this no-respect thing all the way to a Superbowl Victory!

  57. Yes, Lofa played w/ what's reported as a "minor concussion" following the Goings collision. Of course, following up on his SA comments, Skip Bayless probably thinks Lofa's an idiot for continuing to play, or is a dirty player for knocking the Panthers' RB out of the game.

Wait - breathe, Uff, breathe - I'm okay. I'm happy. I will not read any more Bayless. I will enjoy this victory.

  58. ADP it's doubtful that Wayne will be available as you said, but you never know...I mean, they got their own RB they still gotta sign, and I may be wrong on this, but isn't Marvin Harrision also a free agent? If so, they can't keep them all, and it seems likely that one of those two recievers will be available.

Bigger question is, do we really need one? I don't think we do, though I admit a very fast guy like Harrison as a deep threat would be cool. All in all, there really just aren't alot of pressing needs on this team, there just aren't. If we resign the guys who got us here, add what little we can the smart way, like this last offseason, we'll continue this run for the next 4-5 years.

Actually I think we found our deep threat last night...he was wearing a strange number for a WR though....oh wait, that's right, he was our BACKUP QB Seneca Wallace making that sweet catch!

BTW, how big a pay increase did Rocky earn yesterday?!? We really gotta bring him back! I like darby and Tubbs, they are both terrific DT's but the rotation with Rocky on passing downs jsut works SO darn well, we get more pressure form our DT's than we do our DE's and have all season long, mostly because of that sweet rotation. Gotta keep all three together!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Harrison is not FA, he's locked up. Wayne would be interesting on the Seahawks, but he'd be spendy. He's looking to be a #1 WR somewhere, may not fit in well on a team with no "true" #1. Also, I think ADP was talking about Wayne in Carolina. And regarding that, I think they got their Smith complement in Carter.

Re- Rocky, I bet he signs elsewhere for big DT $$, he has the stats. That said, I don't think he'd be that effective unless he was used they way we use him, letting him rest and rotating in and out. And with that said, I think you'll see more of the rotating fatties in the league, it makes a group of marginal starters that much more effective, lets face it, Tubbs is the only one who would start anywhere else. But well rested Rocky, Darby, and Terrill are very effective. I think a replacement for Rocky is pretty easy to come by, either in the draft or FA. Not that I don't love the Rock, just he'll be too expensive, like Ken Lucas.

    Posted by JoSCh

    ReplyDelete
  60. exactly Josch...Harrison is not a free agent and I was in fact talking about Carolina...I do feel we need to draft a WR at some point in the draft...but il get to that down the road...

Colts have Wayne as their #1 priority over Edge---thats a fact...Wayne will be franchise most likely if they can't get a deal in place...bottom line is that I honestly think Edge is gone...dont worry, the Colts are gonna get BITTEN in a couple years with their salary cap

    ReplyDelete
  63. Wow...In my lifetime I never thought I would see such a mediocre franchise almost get to the pinnacle. I am glad we switched to the NFC. I have a hunch we would have got thumped by most AFC teams. Next year we will be better and will have beaten some quality AFC teams as we go all the way!

  67. Which AFC teams would have thumped this team, with this offense and the LEAGUES BEST OLine?

Please! The AFC had a few more top rung teams, it's true, but not any I would be worried about. The Bengals would have gotten smoked by us, so would the Broncos, Pittsburgh matches up well with us, as I have said all season and the Colts had the offense to win in a shootout, but if we had played them 10 times this year we would have won half.

    ReplyDelete
  68. If this team still palyed in the AFC west, I bet we would have gone 11-5 and still won the division, but we'll never know that will we...it's all just conjecture, so please, bring facts, or don't bring anything, cuz I can sit here and give you my opinion all day long, but it's just that, an opinion.
