Mike Reinfeldt for President

Check out this article by Art Thiel. He makes some very good points in this regard.

I'd still like to see Mueller in here, But Reinfeldt seems like he would do a fine job as well.

It's time to make a move, Allen! Either defecate or get off the Plebe! It's time to capitalize on this new sense of direction!

  1. Easy Blue, what's wrong with making sure he can get the rest signed before we mark him as the next messiah. After all as you said we could still use Mueller, and besides maybe they want to see who they hire before they put a position label on him. It's not like we're gonna lose him.

  2. Read the words I posted, Vinny.

    I said, make "a" move. It's time.

  3. Blue I read your' post again and I don't see where I miss interpreted you. What do you mean, make 'a' move? I'm obviously confused. Could you please explain.

  4. When I say make "a" move, it is doesn't necessarily mean 'make Mike the Prez'. Mueller would suffice.

Your retort sounded like you think I should back off from saying Mike should be The Man. I'm just saying it doesn't matter, either will do, as long as they make 'a' move.

Well, isn't this an exchange for the ages. I feel my IQ dropping as I type. :)

  5. LOL, I guess I was saying that there's no real hurry if Mike's getting things done without a formal title, and perhaps they're talking to Mueller and want to wait and see what 'his' answer is before giving Reinfeldt the title. I just think that that they're making sure they have all their ducks in a row. Just a hypothesis, but it could be what's holding up the announcements.

  6. Vinny, I almost agree with you here, except that we're a week away from NEEDING a pres. in order to get things done. The clock is tick tick ticking away and Rienfelt ought to be rewarded for getting the deal with Jones done. Like Blue, I am not saying that we need to name him pres, but we need to name someone darn it, and Rienfelt has earned some bonus points in my mind. I love Mueller and think he would be great here, maybe he and Rienfelt as a team would be the best possible situation, but if Mueller (or whoever else out there on our list of candidates) won't commit, then maybe it's time to give the job to Rienfelt. We still have way too much to do to be dickin' the dog on this.

  7. Welcome aboard!!!

I'm not sure that he put us into cap trouble, per se, but he did help load us up with more talent than we've had in awhile. I don't remember having cap trouble. can you elaborate?

  8. He's talking about the cap hell Holmgren walked into when he got here. Which is why he had to cut loose some of the guys folks have talked about that are now doing well on other teams. I don't recall the numbers off hand but actually Holmgren brought Reinfeldt on board in '99, and it was He and Holmgren that saved the Hawks from the hell that Erickson and his staff had put us in, trying to buy a Super Bowl.

At least I beleive that's how it went down.
