rumors

I have heard rumors about some very good receivers.

Word is that Loverius Coles has beens asked to be released or traded, being unhappy with the coaching changes of last season. And the Tennesse Titans are 27 million over the cap and have to clean house,Derrick Mason will be realeased along with other players like Kevin Carter and Samari Rolles.

What do you think of the prospect of bringing one of those wide outs in.

  1. As I've said before, I'd rather work on our guys first, but that being said, I've always liked Mason quite a bit.

  2. ironic...ive always liked Coles...

personally if we went after any receiver, I want Plaxico Burress

  3. I don't have a problem with Plax, but he will cost alot. Rumor right now is that Joe Gibbs is fairly interested in both Plax and Mush.

  4. well I like Plax mainly for his size...and he can catch (I never realized there are receivers who can actually catch after watching Seattle)

we should have a good 12 mill to spend (maybe less...id say 10-12)

I wouldn't mind locking up another 1 or 2 offensive linemen...Lucas, maybe Okeafor...then worry about receivers

Paulie - if we were to get Mason, where do you think he would end up on the depth chart? I always liked the Titans, but never really watch enough of their games to know the extent of Mason's talents

any receiver at this point is a plus over our stone-handed potsmokers (how could KRob not play half the games, and still finish 3rd in drops???)

  5. I think if the Hawks got Mason, that would signify them getting rid of Koren, so I think it would be he and Jax fighting it out for the #1 position. Mason led the league in receptions last season (96) so you know he can catch.

  6. Well, one things for sure, it won't be Porter, looks like he just signed with the Raiders again.

  7. they must of overpaid to get him to stay on a team going nowhere

they have WAY too many holes on both sides of the ball...I guess this means they are cutting either Sapp or Washington to free up some money to afford anyone else...

Porter isn't very impressive to me...but who knows, they haven't really had a good QB since Gannon's MVP year, so maybe thats the reason

    either way...Porter isn't a target to me

    1. Plaxico, 2. Moss (trade), 3. Muhsin, 4. Mason (thanks to paul), 5. Coles...thats my list...Moss is 2nd only because I would rather have 2 equal threats (Djack and Plax) rather then Moss getting the ball 70% of the time...plus Moss doesn't have the greates character

all we got to do is keep being optimistic, its worked for both the Mariners and Seahawks in the offseason

the one thing I like about this site is being able to say a personal opinion and not getting ignored or insulted for it...

  8. I have to say, I'm more than a bit leary of Moss. He's a good way to lose some Seahawks fans with his antics. If I were in personell, I'd have to see some evidence that a change in scenery is just what he needs. It's quite possible that is the case; the Vikings have more inner turmoil than a chimpanzee on laxatives.

Be sure to keep an eye out for who got tagged around the league today. The picture should be clearing up as to what receivers are available, i.e., the Raiders aren't sure if they will use the tag on Porter of Woodson.

If you guys can keep using this thread as a WR information board, It'll be a good candidate for a 'sticky'.

  11. Pretty sure a few of those guys are better than KR though, right?

But I'm feelin' ya on the DJ comparison, actually I was think of a replacement for Rice.

  12. But then again I hadn't thought of the price tags, damn! Sometimes I get ahead of myself. Sorry 'bout that check. :)

  13. 4.6 really isn't much, but how much will we save if we cut Koren? I think if we're going to get an impact guy, Koren is gone.

  14. According to an article in the Tribune, we could pick up $1 mill by releasing D. Robinson, we gained another $1 1/4 mill by releasing Rice, then with the release of Bobby Taylor that would clear another $5 1/4 mill in spending room.

Then the possibility of restructuring Simmons', Brown's and Wistrom's contracts could free up another couple mill.

That's about another $8-9 mill, that bumps us up to about $16 mil under tha cap.

This is just a hypothesis but it's something that can be done, I don't think money's as much a concern as the wants and needs of the team.

  15. Check, on whaty ya;' said about having to draft a WR, here's my short list......
Mark Clayton, Mike Williams, and Stubblefield, I'm only throwing Stubbs out there for the simple reason he's a polished slot type reciever with great hands, and he's a local boy. (went to HS here in Yakima)

  16. I'm still not sure what the big deal is about getting a premiere WR, the Pats did it without a superstar WR. All we need is someone that can run routes and catch the freakin' ball.
