Week 1: Seahawks 9, Lions 6 - Suck It, Peter King

The Seahawks overcame a subpar offensive performance, an improved (at least in appearance) Detroit D-line, inconsistent officiating, and Peter King's "upset special" prediction to beat the Lions 9-6 on a last second Josh Brown 42-yard field goal.

  1. With the Lambs beating the Donkos, and the SF / Arizona game at 14-21 with 6 minutes left in the first half, look for all the pundits to put a serving sized fork in the Seahawks, and start coronating a new NFC West champ!

Of course, another game like today, and I may start believing them!

  2. I was actually pretty worried about this game, seemed like a trap game to me. With a whole new coaching staff there is no film to look at and it's difficult to game plan for and the lions should be fired up to play for the new coach. That said the Hawks still should have handled them better than that.

I guess a win is a win, even if it's stinky. And seeing as how we usually lose the opener
it's a win and yet another demon excercised.

  3. It's like picking up the ugly chick at closing time...certainly not something you want to make a habit of, but at least you got your pipes cleaned!

Here's a look at the one bright spot from the contest.

  4. OMGOSH...NBC Pregame, they said 'and this time Seattle had no complaints about the officials' in the Lions game. Bettis said 'but I ahve the ring' with a fat, smug grin on his face.

    aahhhh im pissed now!

  6. cool, I liked Dyson, but he had a huge bonus due and spent too much time in the trainers room while in Seattle. Good luck Andre.

  8. Looks like the real Pigeons are going to show for this year. Next week the Cards destroy the vastly over rated Pigeons and its wheels off the bandwagon!

  11. You have to give Realist props, however limited. He did drop by after a win.

Actually, he'd better have the guts to do that, since--knock on wood--there won't be many opportunities to do so after a loss this year...

  12. I love Realist. He's like our resident anti-mascot. He's negative (anti), nobody takes him seriously, and he is a source of entertainment (mascot).
