draft "expert" review

This is a review from one of the many "experts"on the net, giving us a big D- on our draft.
The thing that makes me mad is unless you draft what these "experts"have in they're mocks, they say that you had a bad draft.Thinking they know how to stack a draft board better then guys that do it for a living. The thing is that for the last 6+ years we have been going after the most physicly gifted and the most highly touted we can get our hands on.But has that worked for us?It seem like it has but we have not won games when it counts, in the playoffs.
I give our front office credit for thinking outside the box, giving our team football players that we can be proud of on and off the field.

  1. My question is "Who is this guy and what are his cedentials that make him an 'expert' in drafts and the NFL Teams?"

Absolute 'hog wash'! I'm agree, lets wait and see how they work in the system before we decide whether they are any good or not.....seems to me he just went by other draft grades.

  2. I agree with you all,Does this guy watch film go to all the pro days or combine. What does he know about football that we don't.Most of these goons don't know anymore then we do about football. They just build a site and call themselves "experts".

  3. I'd like to see one of these guys do a Draft Report card on the 2002 or 2003 draft, now THAT would be a fact-based exercise, but it will never happen.

This Draft Report card is all about two things HYPING the league and the names of the new "stars", and GAMBLING lines. So in essense, it is HOGWASH.

But this actually works to our benefit, as long as our players and front office staff doesn't start believing it. Based on this HOGWASH, people will underestimate us, more money will be put on our opponents, our point spreads for early games will be large when we're "dogs", and small when we're favored, and we'll all get stinking rich when we start kicking serious ass next season!

P.S. and why will we NEVER see a draft expert reviewing a draft from 2-3 years ago? Because these same "expertes" do these immediate grade reports every year after the draft, and they'd all be proving themselves wrong by looking back over a period of time.

  4. Crap, Scott Wright said our draft sucked and we can only salvage if Willis starts at RT this year. Obviously Scott Wright knows, he had Robert Gallery as the best OT last year, and the Raiders won the World Series. I hope we hire Scott Wright to be the Grand Wizard of Football and Snack machine maintenance, so we can finally win a skins game/jack-a-lope hunt. Oh, and "This site is in no way affiliated with the National Football League (NFL) or the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)..." He should add the caveat that this site in no way is held accountable for information provided to his disclaimer. Otherwise his last years draft analysis would be available.

  6. anyone notice he gave the Rams a good grade...

the whole article, he talks about how Incognito has emotional issues, and how players have the 'size' to do good...interesting, as thats the exact opposite of what Ruskell wants for us...we get good character, they get bad characters, we get skilled players with bad size, they get good size players who rely on the size for skills...anyone notice a trend?

maybe teams out there arent trying to go in the Patriots direction like us...

the Rams draft will prove perfect for a measuring stick, since we both went completely opposite (they drafted needs, size first...we drafted fits, skills, characters first)...3 years from now, we need to compare the draft picks and see if Ruskell's way is better then the average joe's way

the Rams draft is a great measuring stick for us, the only difference is, Alex Barron fell to them, and we weren't half as lucky

  7. 10 bucks says Mike Martz will drive Barron nuts 2 years from now...unless hes fired for being swept by us the next two years ;)
