You have probably noticed, in the contributor field, a strange bit of text -- "(deleted user)".
This is all that is left of our idealogically imploded freind, Munchausen. He has deleted his blogger account and moved on to greener pastures.
I've been wondering what he has been up to. I know it's the off season, and he's been busy with his course work, and focusing on baseball, but this was alarming to me, since I know he has been busy with PositivePaul with 'Mariner's Morsels'.
I decided to investigate, and found this in his baseball side of the cyberworld. Aparrently Munchausen has fallen prey to the ideology and disillusionment of trying to find spiritual fulfillment in sport. He didn't find what he is looking for and has dropped out completely.
I have to say, he has been one of the most intelligent and soulful bloggers I have ever seen. I've been missing him, and perhaps always will.
I have to leave for a while, but this thread will be dedicated to the memories he has brought to the Seahawks side of the blogging world. If you have anything to contribute from the PI Seahawks blog, please do. I will be back to spend more time with it.
Bid thee well, Munchausen.
I will also miss Munch. He was one of a small group of posters (along with the other folks who have joined here) on the PI site that took the sport seriously, and actually thought logically about what was going on. Always polite, always on target. Hopefully he'll come back. Stranger things have happened.

I never knew Munch, being an ST guy and a relative newcomer to "the street", but I can sense that this is a sad, sad day in blogdom, as it appears that we're all suffering the loss of a great contributor.
ReplyDeleteIn the immortal words of the group Kansas, all I can say is:
Carry on, my wayward son,
There will be peace when you are done,
Lay your weary head to rest,
Don't you cry no more!
To Munch!
To Munch!
ReplyDeleteOne for our Homey (as I poor some Koolaid on the ground)
One less level head to counter my lunacy. Too bad.

I will always be grateful for the following post he directed at me, for taking smack with wavespy to illegal levels:
ReplyDelete---------------------------
I'm with Deer fan. Even though the guy gave out his email address, looking up his work address, phone number and map to his office, and then encouraging other people to bother him -- ESPECIALLY to make personal attacks that have nothing to do with football -- is neither an adult, nor moral, thing to do. (And he didn't provide that information, Blue, you looked it up.)
What you're describing IS stalking, and it's illegal. Please cease and desist this type of behavior. I like this blog, and I don't want to see restrictions put on us - like they had to on the Mariners blog - because of harassment issues and unsanitary comments.
Yes, the guy was foolish to give out his actual work email address. But it's doubly foolish to take the next step and start harassing him in the real world simply because of his opinions on a virtual blog.
Please, let's stick to Seahawks talk on here.

Those ****ing Lamb fans. I really blew my cool.
Wow, that takes me back. I remember that. You were one POd Bluefoot.

sounds eerily familiar to a recent situation on the ST site, ey Vin?
ReplyDeleteWhat did I miss?

Positive Paul said it all...i respect anyone who takes a sport seriously and actually understands why people are passionate about them (im sure we all have different reasons though)
ReplyDeleteMunch was cool...and he had one of the two names on here i would actually say out loud for no apparent reason

ReplyDeleteFunny youu should ask, as someone went retro-BlueFoot on Vinny over there and posted his home address on the site.

Wow - thanks guys! I appreciate the kind words, (as I was Munchausen.)
ReplyDeleteI'm not all the way gone. I check back from time to time, but pro sports has become much less of an essential in my life. I am disillusioned with the world, but I still think sports has a place in it, as entertainment. It was really nice to read your comments. They show me that people can be genuine and appreciative in the blogosphere. I have always enjoyed reading your comments, as well, Vinny, ADP, Blue, Monkey, ShoNuff, and all the "regulars" at the original P-I blog.
I'll be around come football season.

You would think that if you were the subject of a thread, you could pick and **** you want.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I sure hope so. The drops are a HORRIBLE stigma.
C/K, I'm strangely encouraged by your new sense of balance and priorities. I think most of us would like to SAY we have our priorities right when it comes to sports - but I'm guessing the reality is that we all get out of hand sometimes. It's much easier said than done to keep family, faith, work and entertainment in balance. To your actually doing it, I tip the hat.

ReplyDeletei say the word monkey alot...as i call this chick i know funky monkey...but not including that, Alba is different...not Albany...but Alba
and good to see you around again, Citizen Munch
Thank you for not telling us why you call her funky monkey, ADP. That soulds like something I could go my whole life without knowing. :)
