Seahawks have tough choices at WR

"All these guys we feel very good about," Cromwell said. "So you're going to have to come to practice every practice."

We have had this discussion in here the last few days -- the competition for WR spots is going to be sharply contested. I sense that Tim Ruskell will not allow the rash of dropped passes that have crippled our offensive development the last few seasons.

Numbers are being tossed around -- will we keep 5, 6, even 7 WR's? Looking at the rest of the roster, I personally can't see keeping more than 6 -- and you know special teams ace Alex Bannister is one of them.

  1. This is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing off seasons ever.

Not only with our glut of WRs, but the depth that we've built throughout the defense will have to be dealt with too.

I'm thinking that unless some guys play there ASSES off in the off and pre-seasons, there may be some familiar names hitting the waiver wire by the time the 53 man roster deadline comes around.

  2. I will be very dissapointed if JJ isn't on the squad next year. He can show some of these guys how its done!

  3. I'm thinking it will probably be Hackett and Wallace, if Koren and Jackson have pulled their heads out by training camp time.

  4. the only comment i wanted to make was regarding bannister being a lock. and i say that he is not a lock. with this much competition, there are plenty of guys who will contribute more as a receiver than alex. if one of the bubble boys becomes more adept at the special teams side of things, then they might cut alex.

  5. I'd love to see someone come in and beat him out for the job. Because with him our STs was pretty good with Kaz out there too. So an improvement on either of those guys is just another shot in the arm for teh Hawks. Sometimes it gets moved to the back burner, but we had a lot of problems on STs. And I think that any of the guys that don't start out of the draft pool, will fit in nicly on STs. All are guys that fly to the ball and have good instincts.

I can't wait for Camp Cheney to start.
