  1. When the season starts, I think we should do a "pick em all" pool and a suicide pool for bragging rights on the blog.

By Pick Em All, I mean picking all 15 or so games each week, with the point spreads, and keeping a running tally on how many wins everyone has. We'll have a weekly winner, with Monday Night as the tie breaker, and overall First, Second Third and Last for the season.

The Suicide pool is that you pick ONE game each week, without the spread, and if your team loses, you're out for good. You can also only pick a team ONCE during the year.

It would be too hard to have a money end to this, since we're all over the country, so it will have to be just for blog site bragging rights.

    What do you think?

  4. What's so funny, Monkey? Isn't he writing "60 Fl"...as in 60 fluid ounces??!! LOL!

  5. I think the Suicide pool' is a great idea -- But we'll have to see who volunteeers to be the "Keeper of the Spreadsheets". I would, but I've got enough irons in the fire now, I don't think I could be faithful to it.

BTW, alba, thanks for updating the little things on the site lately.

  6. Check - what you're really describing is the difference between a blog and a chat board, which is the articles on the blog are supposed to contain more insight or opinion than just "hey look at this new arcticle on the ST site".

Artticle's like Monkey's Defense 101 or my Pepsi Hawk Uniform piece are more in keeping with Blogdom.

They may refer to a article or topic on another site, but there is substance to the piece on the blog, which adds value to the referred items.

Granted, we all don't have the time or poetic talents to wax rhapsodic every time there's breaking Seahawks news, but we should try to avoid the "Check out the new video on Seahawks.com" posts too.

The Flooble is a great area for that.

  7. Check, while I agree on the need for a place for minor topics, to do it in the means you are descibing makes the site a bit more high-maintenance, and it would be pretty much a copy of what Squidly offers. I'm happy that we've found our own peculiar niche in the Seahawks fan world, and I have no motivation to emulate (which means to copy but yet surpass) other 'Hawk sites.

Alba's suggestion is good, in that the chatterbox would be a good place for posting links to articles, but I'm pretty sure that there will be a steady flow of info in the flooble, preventing anything from staying there long.

How about this: A second flooble, called the linkshare or link pool or something, either somewhere on the main page or on another one, linked to from the main. It would be dedicated to sharing of Seahawks articles, and if on another page, it could be 99 posts long. The nice thing is that it would recycle itself, purging old links, and it would not be the burden of one or two people.

    Whaddya think?

  8. Mr. Foot - I think the one Flooble we got takes up enough real estate, so I'm not a fan of adding another one.

Actually, I think we've been doing a pretty good job even with the "quick link" posts.

I'd rather see us encourage the contributors to provide some commentary, insite and/or opinion when posting the link. A couple paragraphs will do, which is usually what you need to properly wrap with the graphic!

I agree with you though that this site seems to have dug itself a nice little niche...let's keep it unique!

  9. Great site. I like the ebb and flow of the posters. Not much of a poster myself. Enjoy reading mostly.

One thing, I use Firefox as browser and it conforms to HTML standards better than IE. So can you fix the & nbsp used in Site Jump and other links. The character for space is & nbsp; (semicolon necessary) Just a little clarity. Thanks

  10. Thanks, Nilly!

You've got some cajones to come in here and tell us to reprogram our blog site to conform to your oddball browser. Just the kind of self absorbed, ipod-wearing, Mac-loving, Gates-hating guys I like to hang around!

j/k, Welcome to the show. I'll take a look, but I don't have firefox to test it out on. Maybe it's time I should, since the percentage of visitors to this site that use Firefox has crept up to 9%.

  12. I have a great idea that would go over well with most, if not all, the poster here.

    Are ya ready for this?

A free beer for every post a poster makes.

  15. A pernicious Lamb fan asked me about my handle once, I told him it was from kicking his *** all over the blog.

  16. Hey Blue! How about we have some web space that we can upload our images to so that if we change ISP carriers, we don't lose the images?

I am going to dump AOL and I'm not sure if the images I have uploaded there will disapear when I do. I know when I left comcast all my uploads vanished. the other benifit would be that we wouldn't get complaints about hotlinking.
