The Onterrio Scenario?

According to KFFL, Onterrio Smith is about to be suspended by the league for the season for an incident unrelated to his recent Whizzenator fiasco, pending appeal.

(see Monkey's Post Below!)

With the Vikings planning on a lot of their offense going through Mr. Smith, if he's not around this season, I still say that this situation could break the log-jam in the free agent running back marketplace.

They are bound to start sniffing around Shaun, Edge or Travis, and once one of those guys move, the others will probably soon follow.

I'd love to see Shaun in Seahawks colors next season, but this Onterrio Scenario may be interesting to watch unfold.

Looking at this picture of Shaun, is he dressed in a Toga, or his he dressed To Go? Is he dressed as a Roman, or to go Roaming? Is he a Gladiator, or did Michael Vick get to her first?
(think about it..it'll come to you!)

  2. I'll say this, as much as I think that Alexander is a great player and would do great things for us this season, I would rather see this situationsettled and done with any way possible than to have it linger on into training camp and possibly beyond. I hope you're right alba, I certainly can understand the logic behind the Onterio scenario. One way or another I just want to see this thing resolved before it becomes a distraction.

  3. Bennett is always always hurt check. And while Moe is a terrific third and short/goaline type of back, he is not an everydown runner. Bennett was being looked at as the number 2 guy from what I am hearing in Vikes land, at least until now. I really think alba may be onto something here. Actually the guys who I think the Vikes will go with if they don't trade for a back, aren't Bennett and Moe (though Moe will get his touches) but Moore and the rookie (can't remember his name).
Bennett is as close to being labeled a bust as a player can be without actually actually having the label stapled to his forehead. Tce is all but fed up with the guy from everything I am hearing. I really believe that Tice was in fact targeting Smith to be the #1 back until this thing happened.

  6. I thought Moore was the rookie, and I had forgotten about him, another reason they won't need Alexander.

  9. Ciatric Fason is the rook this year, but I don't want Alexander going to one of the top NFC teams.I don't want to face him in the playoffs.I dobt the Vikings would need him with all the young guys they have in they're back field. Our back field is set I wouldn't take less then a first round pick for Alexander right now.We couldn't get any value otherwise.

  10. All I know is, the best thing that's happened this off season was you guys talking down off my 'Alexander Sucks!' soapbox....I'm a much happier Hawkanatic. Thanks to all involved in my therapy.....now that I'm ok with Shaun staying I have nothing to really stress me out about the team going into the season.

    This place rules!

  12. No way the Queens look for another RB, they are completely fine in that regard. I suspect Moore will be the primary carrier after Bennett injures his foot in camp, Moe can carry the load, and Fason certainly has potential.

We need to sign Shaun to a contract similar to the Rudi one, but with a bigger bonus. Rudi's contract is the fairest contract of all time for the player and  the team.
