12 Seahawks Street Knock-Out Pool

I'm bumping this back up to the top to give anyone who wants to a last chance to get into the pool, and for those already in, a chance to verify that their pick is properly recorded on the Knock-Out League Picks & Standings page.

Also, participants should email me at albanyhawker@yahoo.com, especially those who are not regular contributors here, so I can send out reminders to get your picks in each week.

Anyone interested in having a 12 Seahawks Street Knock-Out pool?

Basically, it's a single elimination tournament where you pick the winner of one game each week, no point spread. The rules are you can only use a team once, so if you pick the Pats to beat the Raiders in the Thurs. opener, you can't pick the Pats again. I think to make it even more interesting, we'll add that you can't pick the Seahawks either. If your team doesn't win, you're out. We continue each week until there's only one man left standing.

Use the comment section here to let me know if you're interested, and to pick your winner for Week #1. There is no prize other than having bragging rights as the 12 Seahawks Street Knockout Pool winner for an entire year!

This is open to all visitors to 12 Seahawks Street, you don't have to be a Contributor to participate.

  1. After looking at the picture, I think I am up for this contest.
Oh man sorry I just couldn't resist.
But seriously this could be alot of fun since my league idea never got off the ground.

  2. Obviously, I'm in, and will be happy to manage the league (i.e. keep track of who has picked whom, etc.)

I saw this picture and couldn't resist too. I can't look at it too long or I won't last 30 seconds into the first round!!!

  4. I'm in. I was thinking taking Den in their matchup in Mia, but will go with Buf over Hou. Anyone who takes Car over NO has no heart... ruthless bastids.

I was thinking taking Jax over us, since I tend to lose bets :-( and continuing that the whole season. That would net a 13-3 record at the worst, since I could only pick the Lambs, Tards, and Whiners once.

Whose gonna keep track of this? alba? Oh, you know its you. If you get eliminated and the game starts again, can you use a team you used in earlier rounds?

  5. Yes, I'll keep track of this, and haven't thought about running it again if everyone is eliminated early. I imagine that we would restart from scratch, having all teams eligible again, but it would depend how deep in the season we are at that point.

I'll post a tally sheet of who picked whom before the games start on Sunday. All picks need to be in by Friday at the latest, or tomorrow if you're picking the Pats-Raiders game.

I think Miss 44-D Everlast will be our icon for this league, even though there's no Seahawk tie-in!

    Good luck!

  8. A little racy for the office, GOX, but I was 3 for 4 before I bailed. Will definitely sit for the full exam tonight from home!

Here's a clickable link for the more lazy among us:

    Boobs, Butt or Shoulder

So GOX, are you in the Knock-Out pool?

  9. I hate Week One on these things, as it's so hard to know what teams are going to come out hot.

I really wanted to pick the Panther's over the Saints, but didn't want to be a "bastid" so I'll let that one go.

Which leaves me to picking the Vikings over the Bucs. Go K-Rob!

  10. I dog the knock out, much harder than one would think, thanks for letting the NC (Non-contributor)play. I'm taking Pittsburgh at home.

  11. Great to have you in the league, Vespa. We try to be all-inclusive here at 12 Seahawks Street...well everyone except Rams fans you know!

I wish I could arrange a date with our Knock-Out icon model for the winner, or at least convince her to raise her hands in a victory celebration!!!

Can't wait for the Season to start!

  12. What a great site. I'm not very blog-saavy but I thought I'd join the Knock-out pool. I assume I just type my pick here? If so, I'll take Pittsburgh. It's a good rule that we can't pick the Hawks. I'd of course, pick them to win every week and if the past few years are any indicator, I'd be wrong around half the time!

  13. Welcome to the League, SeaChicken....are you one in the same with the PI poster?

  14. Not me. I don't think I've ever posted anything at the PI site. I'm Seaboiler at Seahawks.net. Park Hill Seachickens is my fantasy football team name. I'm in a league with a bunch of cheeseheads.

  17. Dallas over the Chargers.

I cut my teeth watching the Bolts and learned two things about the Chargers:

    1. They can only be good on once side of the ball at a time.
    2. Every good season is followed by a crappy one.

  18. I'll take Denver, thanks.

  19. I'm assuming we can pick against the same team each week. I always found it curious that in these "horseraces" you couldn't pick for the same team each week, but could pick against the same team any number of times. Anyway, I like to be original so I'll go out on a limb and take the Steelers to put a good old-fashioned beatdown on the hapless Titans.

  20. looks like me and bokonon are the only ones with bg cajones...

    Blue...get the wheelbarrows for us...

just for reference, i didnt pick the 49ers because i hate the rams...thats just extra! i think the 49ers will come out swinging and make the rams uncomfortable the whole game

  30. Well I gotta go with Carolina over New Orleans, I really don't care if it's cruel or not. May come back to bite me but oh well...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well we're at least guarnteed that either ADP or Dallas Hawk will be bounced on week #1, as they're picking against each other.

  32. just call me a sniper...pick them off one by one...

im confident in the 49ers (seriously...dont get me wrong, if they get killed i wont be surprised...but i have a feeling...Rattay is a TAD underrated, and hes got ummm...ummm...ok im screwed.)

besides, NOONE will last past the final bye week...so this may get started up again from there into the playoffs

  41. Not only will you get bragging rights if this pick comes in, but youi'll also be able to rub Sean Salsbury's nose in it. He just picked that game as the blow out of week, saying the Lambs should easily score 40 or more!
