There aren't a lot of nominees for this one. Only three scoring drives, and all the other ones didn't work out to well.
Thats because this is the 4th preseason game, otherwise known as the most useless football game of the year. Look in the archives, you'll see what I mean.
But since, no matter what the selection, the acedmy always gives out an Oscar for best picture, here's this week's Drive of the Game.
Seattle'2 4th quartr TD
The essentials: 7 plays, 43 yards in 3:23. Result: Marquis Weeks one yard TD. 21-17 Seahawks.
Why its the D.O.G: A couple of reasons. One is, it gave us a six point lead, and arguably could have won us the game. I'm not concerend though since the third string defense.
The second is, that this was our third stringers, and I'm a softie for the players who give it their all even when they don't have much of a chance to make the team.
Considering the comments from the last D.O.G, I realize that this award is getting great feedback. I don't think this week is holding up to the newly found standard, but a bad game gets a bad award.
So, to those involved in that drive that won't make it to the final roster: take solace in the fact that you are the recipient of this week's Extremely Corny Bronze Racecar.
Yup, I still love eveything about this award. Good DOG!
ReplyDeleteGood thing for Weeks too, he may never be involved in this award again. Did we assemble the practice squad yet? I guess I could go look... Sad to see White got picked up by Jax, with the plays, calls, and stunts fresh in his mind he'll be able to give them pretty good scoop. I was hoping he'd make it back to us.

im glad someone else pointed out that there were 3rd stringers on those drives near the end of the game...
ReplyDeletethis only magnifies how good Weaver is and how good Weeks could be IF it was our first team playing with them...could you imagine Weaver with our first team OLine???
loving it...i really hope Weeks makes the practice squad and that Kaz is actually Tracy White in disguise
