who will be the M.O.P? (most outstanding player)

What I mean by M.O.P. is not necessarily the MVP (though it could be), but just the one guy who simply had the outstanding game regardless of positon.

Let's face it people, I am the M.O.P. king, so far I have NAILED it every week. Last week I picked DJack and Hamlin and they both excelled, before that I picked guys like Lofa and Stevens and Jurivicius and Tubbs. I have freakin NAILED it each and every game. Too bad I am completely burned out and CLUELESS this week. *sigh*
I have absolutely no idea who I should go with this week because I get the sense that the game will go much differently than the way I would have it go if I were the head coach. I just have no pregame "feeling" for this one at all.

Anyway, guess I gotta go with somebody, so here's how I'll do it. The ofeensive M.O.P. (if I were head coach) would be Jerramy Stevens. I really think he has the size and speed to be the single biggest matchup problem for the Skins this week. Having said that, I will probably be wrong, it'll probably turn out to DJack again or Bobby Engram. But I will go with Stevens even though I think I'll be wrong.
Defensively is a little easier, but still very tough. I would like to say that Trufant will have the big game shutting down the Skins recievers, or that Tubbs or Wistrom will have the big game getting a couple of sacks and putting all kinds of pressure on the QB. But I am probably wrong again, so just to name someone, I will say......Wistrom. Two sacks and a forced fumble. There those are my picks, (which I have absolutely no faith in whatsoever for the first time this year) who are yours? Who do you guys think will be the M.O.P. and why?

  1. hmmm

    Trufant again.

If he is able to fend off the deep passes, we win...its that simple...Hass is rarely stupid enough to give up turnovers, so the 'experts' out there can lick a pube predicting that Washington will score a TD on defense. Clinton Portis will not run us over all day...as the front 7 has been pretty impressive---im not worried about that...with our offense, one guy cant possibly beat us

so it leaves it down to eliminating Santana Moss...he tends to disappear if he hurt him, so if Hamlin gets a hit on him...Moss is gonna feel it...makes Tru's job easier...if not, than Tru is a make or break pick...

  2. This is a shot in the dark, but for some reason, I've got a feeling. I think Peter Warrick is going to have a big game. The Skins will put the pressure on D-Jack, Engram, and to some degree stevens. And Warrick will light it up.

  3. I'm going with the following MOPs

OFFENSE: Peter Warrick  After that catch he made in garbage time in the Cards game, I'm impressed with the dude's skills, and Holmy has been trying to get him into the offense for 3 weeks now. Add a couple of nice punt returns, and he may be a double-MOP and pick up the Special Teams honor as well.

DEFENSE: Gotta go with our sophmore sensation Marcus Tubbs. Stopping Portis is going to be job one for the D-line, and big Marcus is going to have a career day in terms of plugging up holes and making tackles.

SPECIAL TEAMS: If not P-Dub then I gotta keep riding the Josh Scobey bandwagon. Not sure how big a leg the RacialSlurs kicker has, but "12:30" has been threatening to break a big run all season, and this may be the game where we get our first Kick Return for a TD! Let's just hope it's not called back due to a stupid penalty. (oh, that's right, "collarbone" is on IR, nevermind!)

  11. warrick sounds pretty doubtful towards playing sunday at all. my guess is that he will be deactivated.

i'm thinking that hass and boulware are due. hass didn't get one td on his birthday, so i think he will come out firing. and when the redskins stack up trying to stop alexander (and you know they will), the passing game will erupt for serious points.

and call it a hunch, but boulware is overdue for one of those timely interceptions.

  12. MB is a mystery so far...quitely playing solid...but last year he didnt even start much, and had 6 picks...this year he is starting and is off his pace from last year...

i agree 100% he is due...and im looking for Hass to have a great game

  13. I think last year teams didn't fear him, being a rookie and a converted linebacker. This year they're much more cautious.

Add to that the fact that this year we've got a better pass rush, so opposting QBs are not going deep as often on us (unless, of course, their guy is running wide open 40 yards from the nearest Seahawk!)

  14. Lofa! Lofa! Lofa! Lofa!

Ummm, I pick lofa Tatupu. :)

Or maybe Tubbs, I'd love to see him hand out some pain to the QB this weekend.

55 yards total rushing for the Skins!

  15. With P-Dub questionable, do Gumbusto and I get to pick a "Broom" of the game, in case our MOP is deactivated?

  16. If P-Dub is scratched, I'm going with JJ in his place.

  18. Ok, its been a good night, its like 2:30 am and I got somebody to drive me to Sharis(I am in no state to drive) and I have come up with aa revelation. I think lofa will be the Mop if P-Dub doesn't play. He will shut down C.Portis like nobody's business.

  20. Tough week, Stevens should do well, Slurs don't cover well inside, Taylor doesn't look good. DD Lewis and Jamie Sharper look to do damage on the stretch vs Portis, I think they run strong side mostly, so Sharper. D-Jack has his knee issue, or does he? I think they gave him the day off, and he'll be fine, and putting on the injury report is a mind game on Springs. Alexander on BDSSP recommended FFL players start him, and I always listen to Shaun. So I am going D-Jack and Sharper. Sharper will have double digit tackles, D-Jack will have his ordinary game, 100 and a touch.
