I ended up catching the end of this one at a resturaunt. And, as I left the bar to go to the table, I thought to myself, "there's some magic in this team." The Cowboys game, the escape from San Fran, this game. These wins are almost surreal.
So, I have to agree with John Clayton and some guys on this one. I'll be honest. We got lucky in this one. Three missed field goals? Three times where everyone in the stadium thought it was over?
I have to confess it, we got lucky.
BUT...its because we were good.
Luck doesn't just happen in the NFL. You set yourself up for luck by working hard and putting yourself in position to get the lucky bounce. And our luck in winning this one goes back to the forth quarter when we scored and thought we were up for good.
For the Extremely Corny Bronze Racecar and even some ribbons....
You got that right, this team *is* special.
ReplyDeleteAnd as much as folks want to kick our defense around for this one, if they give up a few more yards on any of those three kicks, they're close enough to be good, and we lose.
The TEAM just pulls together and finds a way to win.
Now we need to blow Philly off the field and begin our march to Detroit.

The other thing worth mentioning is that Shaun was stopped for a LOSS on that 4th-and-inches, and made the TD on second effort and will alone.
ReplyDeleteSo much for the knock on him that he's soft and can't pick up critical yardage.

Lucky huh... well, ok. We're lucky. Finally. Lucky and good is a great combination. Its nice to get a couple of good-n-lucky games, I can live with that.
ReplyDeletealba, everybody knows Shaun runs hard when the goalline is near... but still gets my RB of the week award.

Why Shaun gets RB of the week: He ran hard till the end of all his runs. Tomlinson, on both of his touchdown runs slowed up at the goal line.
ReplyDeletethe football gods were watching, and should award Shaun and the Seahawks a lengthier stay in the playoffs than the Chargers (if SD makes it)
Actually Shaun always gets my RB of the Week. Doesn't matter what he or anyone else do... I'm biased.
ReplyDeleteAgree, the Football Gods will take notice... woe to you Mr. Tomlinson, woe to you.
