Can we BYE a Break this year?

I got this from a contributor named JLTTravis on Sando's blog, which lends a little background info to our pitiful record coming off the bye week under Holmgren:

I was curious how the Seahawks could be 0-6 under Holmgren after a bye, and after looking at their opponents it seems there's more to it than being "flat." In the six years he's been here the Hawks seem to draw pretty tough post-bye games. Of the six, only one wasn't a playoff team. In fact, I'd guess that last season was the first time the Hawks were favored.

Here's the bye week opponent from the past six years and their record:

99 @ San Diego (8-8 )
00 Denver (11-5 Wild Card)
01 Miami (Wild Card 11-5)
02 San Francisco (10-6 Division Winners)
03 @ Green Bay (10-6 Division Winners)
04 St. Louis (8-8 Wild Card)

Not that the Cards will roll over for us, especially since they're at home, but I don't see them being the caliber of team that has previously knocked the tan off of us after our mid-season vacation!

  1. And the SD and Denver losses were in the wild west... back then anything could happen, so losing to an 8-8 SD team shouldn't be surprising. Losing to a 1-15 team from AFCW wouldn't have been.

That is good info alba, mad props for stealing it from Trav/Sando... and giving credit of course.

  2. Great point Josch, about the old AFC West...

I honestly think we'll crush them...

still have 4 things left to conquer in the regular season

-Revenge on the Rams Game 1 (CHECK)
    -Revenge on the Cowboys (CHECK)
-Revenge on the Bye Week Curse
-Revenge on the Rams Game 2
-Revenge on the Media! (beat their son, the Eagles and show who is the best NFC team and shove their respect up their asses)
-Revenge on the Packers (sorry babe!)

Our obvious checklist including the playoffs, is to grab the first round bye, win a playoff game...and the Super Bowl

The only ones we should have trouble with is the Rams and the Super Bowl...im a tad worried about the Giants...but they dont have experience in the playoffs...thats how Atlanta lost to Philly last year...we have experience, unfortunately, the team I truly feel is #2 in the NFC does as well---DONT FORGET ABOUT CAROLINA...they will be in our way...the Eagles wont go down without a fight, despite our superiority to them

THE REVOLUTION IS ON ITS WAY!!! Seattle will conquer! And neither the Rams or the media can stop it this time!
