The Light Shining Down

Anyone who has read any of IrishGreg's stuff here or on the PI Fan Forum knows he's a serious Seahawks fan, and one helluva good writer. Here's a link to his latest article on Seahawks.NET about a very serious situation, which directly relates to his love of the Seahawks...

Anyways, Ive seen this topic up a couple times, but didnt have time to read the article...so I did so today after making the TWI.

Irish did another great job, and this one definitely feels personal, though I cant say i understand how he feels, as ive never experienced that.

I do however fall into the same category when it comes to latching onto sports, as that was the case when my parents divorced while I was at a young age.

It was constant insults to each other after the divorce, where my mother would go on about how bad my dad was and likewise the other way around. Everything was great before then, so at a young age, suddenly hearing your parents are horrible really doesnt sit well.

Thats basically how I started into sports, particularly playing them, trying to maintain my focus without losing sight of the situation. Its tough to deal with, and the situation in his article sounds even tougher.

This just shows, that sports are not pointless. Rooting for teams heavily is not pointless. Caring about them is not pointless. Im not ashamed to take up for sports when someone utters 'you care too much about sports', as my mother would always say. Unlike her, sports was there for me, and I will never betray a true friend.
