Monkey's Banana Peel Award

The award given to the offensive and defensive players who best slip up the opposition.

I'm not going to complain because a win is a win, but let's face it; this game was alot closer than it could have been, had the defense not started playing all conservative in the second half.

Oh well, we are now 6-2 and it is looking more and more like this team may end up with home field advantage throughout the playoffs since we have beaten Atlanta and Dallas, and will soon be kicking around the much overhyped and overrated Giants. I keep hearing commentators and fellow fans saying that "this isn't the same Seahawks team", meaning not the same team that found stupid ways to lose games; and it is so very true. There is simply a vibe, a swagger if you will, that is different than in past seasons, this team is playing like a team looking not to just make the playoffs, but make a big noise in the playoffs!

  1. Brilliant on Hutch getting part of it. Because Shaun is so obviously the most recognized Seahawk, I would say you could just give this one to Hutch alone. Regardless, I'm hoping they both get their just rewards prior to free agency.

Not sure if you saw on CitK's post, but Seattle is tied with SD for most sacks  at 27. Mr Fisher is tied for 4th in the league, not bad for a *high motor guy* with no talent.

  2. Its good to see Hutch get some love...Seattle fans go gaga over Walter Jones alot, and rightfully so, but Hutch has seemed to disappear from our minds, until we worry about the upcoming free agency

I didnt get to watch the game, and the only oline thing I noticed was Tobeck's peel block, and Mack Strong lighting a guy up on a block

I wonder how good Hutch would be without Walt, but who cares...our oline is NASTY...

As for the sacks...amazing a 3-4 defense tied in the lead

  3. Can't argue with anything in this post and award, and I'll agree that it's good to see my boy Kelly Herndon getting some love for a change.

And while Bryce was definitely the defensive stud in that game, and probably our DMVP, did you notice who it was who motored down the field to make the tackle, and eventually drew the block in the back penalty, that nullified the Card's TD?

At first I thought it was Kelly Herndon, when I saw the jersey number that ended in a 1, but on further review, that was our middle linebacker, Lofa Tatupu, getting his tiny little arse all the way down the field to make a tackle at the goal line, and draw that stupid mistake by the Tards.

No way he'll get any love for Defensive Rookie of the Year, but we all know what he's been doing ALL season, and it's nothing short of spectacular! (no pun intended)

  4. It would appear our boy Lofa is exactly the same height as spectacular.
