Shock & Awe!

Thats how the hawks are playing....and the best part its a team effort!

The shock of course belonging to the number 1 rated offense....Over powering line play has given Matt the time to throw...(2 bogus INTs yesterday)! and opening up holes for Shaun!

Shaun ....what can I say... i was wrong the Hawks need to sign him and I think they will...he has just been better every year he has played! and he keeps my fantasy team winning!

The Awe...The defense! I really like the way this unit is coming together. And lofa and Hill will be around for along time. I dont care if some people think we took Lofa to early ....because when you are dying of thrist ...you'll pay hundreds of dollars just for a glass of water...and trust me the Hawks were dying!

Other surprises on the D include fisher and manuel... an other note my shock continues to increase as the media thinks that Edge should be MVP...I like to know what crack pipe they are smoking!

and I am still in awe that some people are looking for ways to knock Holmgren and this team! Hey thats cool..cause the hardest thing for someone to do is to admitt they were wrong! For myself...I can say that I am very happy to be wrong about the D and Alexander! 7 games left and 4 are very win able!

GO HAWKS!!!

  1. Shock and Awe beats Ahh Shucks any day of the week!

Isn't it funny how if you asked any Seahawks fan what they're most concerned with, they'd say "our defense", but they haven't given up a 100 yard game to any one RB, and they held the #2 offenses to very few points TWICE, limiting the Cowgirls and the Rams to a few FGs and an obligatory TD each.

And when we need a key defensive stop, or a turnover at a critical juncture, they've been "johnny on the spot".

I was just re-reading a comment that Shaun made after the Jacksonville loss, where he said "if our defense continues to play like they did today, we'll win a lot of games as a team this season" (or something like that)

Seems odd praise after a 26-14 loss, but if you remember, Matt kept giving them the ball deep in our own territory, and the defense kept holding them to FGs or 3-and-outs, and we were still in a position to win the game at the start of the 4th quarter.

That, coupled with the Holmy mantra of "this defense is still young and keeps getting better each week" makes me feel that if they can remain focused against the 49ers next week, we could very well be looking at 14-2 or 13-3 and a first round bye.

And now that Ruskell-era Seahawks are officially 1-0 after a bye week, that's some freaking good news for Seattle fans!

  2. the last few years, fans pointed this out, but somewhere along the way this year, its been unnoticed...

    this team is young.

    very young.

we should be good for years to come

  3. Alba what u said is very true about the defense. People knock us on the pass rush but we are 2nd maybe 3rd in sacks.

Our red zone and 4th quarter defense has been great this season. They have either held off opponents like Atlanta or gave the offense time to come back like in Dallas.

All in all our defense hasn't lost us any games, both losses are on the offense, even the one against Washington because we all know about the field goals

  4. I just noticed, but the score of our last game vs the cards was closer than this game vs the rams....

adp, this is something I have been thinking about more and more. Once Spencer is entrenched, and either Chop or someone else is in at RG, the O-line is set for 6-8 years. The backfield is set for 3 or 4 years (until Alexander is done), as hopefully Weaver can fill Macks spot whenever Mack is ready (and not a second before!!) As everyone says (or said, this isn't picking on GOX, just residual bitchiness I guess), finding a record breaking RB off the streets is easy, so replacing Shaun shouldn't be a problem. Matt should have 6 more years in him, 4 for sure, and we already have a couple of possibles in the wings in Wallace and Green, plus we'll no doubt draft a few in the future. WR, I think with as many Walsh/Holmgren/Reid guys there are out there, actually are sort of easy to find. Obviously a gamer in a future draft would help, but D-Jack is set for a couple, and I think we either have a direct replacement for Bobby (P-Dub), or possible speed upgrade (Hackett) on the roster now.

D, we still need a pass rush specialist, and a potential replacement for Wistrom in 4+ years. Should be set at LB, should be set at DB, with depth and prospect draft choices.

Looking forward to the draft, seriously, if drafting for need (we won't, for the sake of this though) is KR/PR our biggest? After that I'd say CB depth (those guys return kicks) pass rushing DE (rarely return kicks...), then what? I do believe we can the the Alexander replacement next year or ideally the year after. Damn you Marion Barber, why didn't you stay in school one more year!
