monkey's Banana Peel Award

The award given to the offensive and defensive players who best slip up the opposition.

Let's face it, this game, going into it, meant a lot more to the Giants who are in the heat of an NFC East bloodbath than it did to the Seahawks who are so far ahead in their division that the fat lady stopped singing quite some time ago.
I know that many media people will forget about that, and they will focus only on the three missed field goals, rather than the fact that all of those attempts were from a long ways out, and that our the Seahawks defense held them to those long field goal attempts.
They will also forget, that just like the Giants, the Seahawks had plenty of chances to sew it up and didn't. The game should never have gone into overtime in the first place, considering the fact that, despite the great effort, Amani Toomer did not make that catch and considering the fact that Shockey never had controll of the ball when he got drilled and dropped the catch in the end zone.

  1. Note, I don't believe the NFL has said so yet, but the missed fg in the Bears/Bucs tilt looked like it went through (well, way above, but inside the imaginary lines) to me. F those Bears, along with the Giants.

Anyway, nice rant monkey, gotta agree on Joe J, will reserve judgement on Lofa, I thought he was run over a few times, and out a place a couple... just my opinion, not meaning to dis your man-crush man. And it wasn't like he had a bad game, just not great. I liked Tru most of the game... and Manuel, just for the Shockey hit/phantom TD.

  2. In truth JoSCH eeach of the names I mentioned could have gotten the award defensively because NO ONE played all that great defensively, but when a guy gets 11 tackles and two assists and no one else is even close...he'll get the award everytime as that is exactly what slipping up the competition is all about.
He didd miss somme things, I agree, problem is so did every other defensive player. But at least Lofa was flying around and in the middle of everything, (as the sheer number of tackles proves) so he gets the award.

  3. WOW Monkey, that was sweet.

As a card carrying skimmer, I was initially intimidated by the size of the post and number of words, but I'm very happy that I read each one of them, and couldn't agree more.

Sign JJ. Sign Shaun. Giants are good. Blitz a little, you might like it! Tofu is HUGE. Matt is a stud. Phuck the media.

(this would be the skimmer's version)

  4. P.S. isn't it great seeing our LINEBACKER leading in tackles, rather than our corners and safeties??!!!

  6. good rant. media keeps hatin but i keep laughin. we'll see who gets the last laugh. JJ was the man on sunday, Alexander fought for every yard he got so no more soft talk.

The media is super funny. Now they just have to find an excuse for every game we win from here on out.
