monkey's Banana Peel Award

The award given to the offensive and defensive players who best slip up the opposition.

I really thought going into this game that it would be a war, that it would have that classic rivalry feel, and that it would be close game, played by two teams who were playing well, I was wrong. Turns out this game was a very easy win over a very clearly overmatched opponent, one who shouldn't have even bothered stepping onto the field with us, because they are clearly not even close to being in the same class with us.

  1. it's so hard to be optomistic being a Seahawks fan, but this season it just feels right. I'm into numbers and how they relate to things, and I'm intrigued that we scored 37 points a couple of times, and Shaun's long run today was 37 yards. It's out 30th season and the 40th of the SuperBowl. There just seems to be some synergy there, this may be our year!

  2. Hate to say it, but I never had a doubt. Said all along the Hawks were far better that anyone gave them credit, and were just a cnt hair away from greatness.

I'm currently working on airline tickets to Detroit. :D

  3. Monkey i couldn't agree with ya more. Last week when Bryant Johnson caught that touchdown in the 4th quarter my stomach turned and i was like no not again. This week after Holts touchdown nuttin happened to my stomach. I was perfectly fine. I had no doubt in my mind that the Seahawks would comeback and put points up on the board. I didn't even think of losing the game, even after the stupid announcers were like u know all the seahawks fans are thinking of the Rams game last year where we gave up a 17 point lead. To be honest before the footage and stuff that never really crossed my mind. This team really is different this year.We are playing the best football in the NFC right now maybe even in the NFL. Front office pleaaaaaaaaase re-sign Alexander he is just too good, and Tatupu is playing some sexy defense out there, i think i might be developing a man crush on him too.

  4. Last year when Engram dropped the pass and we lost i just layed there for about 15 minutes flat on my back. I didn't say anything to anyone i just had my hands over my head and layed flat on the floor. when i finally got up the first words i said were "next year" "next year we will win the super bowl". Well next year has come and it seems that this year truly is the year.

P.S forgot to put my name on it but the other long post is mine too

  5. "even after the stupid announcers were like u know all the seahawks fans are thinking of the Rams game last year where we gave up a 17 point lead."

I'm glad you brought that up, cuz when they said that, I was watching at the bar, and I yelled at the T.V. that they were full of B.S., I yelled that NOONE was feeling that way. Cuz no one was! They just said that to try to be interesting, but in truth I never doubted at all, and neither did anyone watching with me. No one in the bar thought they would blow the lead, I never once got the feeling that the Rams could get back into the game, never.
THIS IS NOT LAST YEARS SEAHAWKS!!!This is a very different team with a very different vibe to them, they play loose, with confidence that was always lacking before. You could see it on the players faces on the sidelines, even when the commentators ade that stupid comment, you could see that the players weren't feeling that way at all, they KNEW they were the better team, they KNEW they had the game wrapped up, and so did I. I never doubted, not once, not even when they got the lead early.
I can't really explain it, but this team just *feels* different, the vibe is just, different.

  6. The only time I got nervous was when St. Louis was gifted with that PI call, a few plays before they scored their first TD. That brought the score to within 8 points. It looked like Mo' was swinging St. Louis' way. Then we kept driving down the field, running the clock down. And Mr. Moneybags found the end zone for the hat trick.

Damn fine win, and, yes, it feels different this year. Guys are dropping like flies, yet their replacements step in and don't miss a beat.

Nothing like that feeling of being 1/50,000th of that #12 (okay -- 1/49,997th -- there were 3 Rams fans sitting in front of us). QWEST is nice -- I'm now 1-0 in attendance there...

  7. Well done Paul, thanks for bringing the win. Well done monkey, I have to agree with your picks, SA is the man, and Lofa... oh Lofa, you midget of a reach you, you make everybody in the media look bad. Watch your back, Kiper and Clayton could put out a hit on you. Fortunately any would be assassin looking for a NFL MLB won't be able to find you as you are far too short and light.
