Dear T.O.

I don't mean to bury the Ray Rhodes story so quickly (since I posted it) but, I was going to originally post this anyway.

(Ahem)

Dear Terrell Owens,

Thank you. From the bottom of a Seahawk fan's heart, I thank you.

The Seahawks are 5-2, and in a four way tie for first place in the conference.

Your Eagles are 4-3, and tied for last in your division.

Seattle has back to back big divisional games that will either more or less wrap up the West or keep it wide open.

You've made that obscure. (Well, you've made all the games this weekend obscure)

I'm not a big fan of yours, but keep doing this. The Seahawks love being unknown.

Yeah, yeah. Our fans complain about this and that. But really, the players love playing without the pressure. Look at last season. Some people had us a darkhorse to make it to the Super Bowl. Things really got exciting after a 3-0 start. But then, one loss, and it went to pieces.

This season, people are saying it'll be the same old Seahawks, who cares? There's no pressure. We lose our top recievers, and people expect us to lose game. Instead, we start the season 5-2, and just when the national guys might think about talking about us, you come in. You take up the first 15 minutes of Sports Center.

Bravo, T.O.

If you drive to Bristol yourself, I'll get you an Extremely Corny Bronze Racecar. Just keep the spotlight off of us. We'll keep silently making our way towards home field advantage.

Signed witha Sharpie,

Alan

  2. Amen! And "Signed with a Sharpie" was the piece de resistance!

But what we're really happy about with TO is not so much taking the spotlight off of us, but rather for removing what was considered one of our sure losses from our schedule.

With the way the Eagles are in-fighting, the Monday night matchup is not as scary as it once was, and could very well be a MAJOR coming out party for the Seahawks, as we inch closer to that first week bye.

So yes, Mr. T.O., much like the drunken asshole at the party that makes the average guys look better to the chicks in the room (something I'm sure ADP never worried about!) we appreciate you getting us a little closer to our ultimate trophy date!

  3. He took up more time on Sportscenter before his recent outburst against McNabb...

When he was upgraded to 'questionable'...they spent at least 20 mins talking about it

That amazes me...it really does...and only proves my points in Monkey's rant

I dont mind flying under the radar at all...but I do want recognition when we do something deserving of it...I cant stand hearing how the other team beat us, or how the other team lost the game (that Cowboys game was US...that pick didnt tie it...our 81 yard drive did)

  4. I would love it if we got national attention too. Which fan doesn't want their team to be the lead item on NFL Live, or Sportscenter?

But, without pressure we seem to play great. Last year, that Redskins lost would have destroyed us. This year, we win pretty much the exact same game two weeks later.

I'll trade Salisbury and Clayton slurping us for a 12 win season and homefield, anyday.

(And if the words Salibury, Clayton, and slurping don't make you sick, nothing will)

  5. LMAO Alan! The words Clayton and Salisbury make me sick even without the slurping us reference.

  6. lol at alan and then monkey...

    bleh

im not sayin i want the Seahawks to be THEE great team on the media...i just want a little more recognition...you know, where they actually show our highlights for once, like they do with nearly every other team? They dont do that on sportscenter, only NFL Live

  7. That is why (the only reason why...) BDSSP on Fox is the best, they like Shaun, so by proxy like the Seahawks, therefore by proxy like us, finally ending with liking ME! So I like you too John Salley.

  8. So I've been wondering if the Eagles will Keshawn (sp?) TO and cut him and make him untouchable for the rest of the season. That would be the ultimate statement. Despite what TO thinks, it takes more than 1 person to have a team.

  9. This whole media perception of Seattle is so absolutely true. I was listening to ESPN radio at 5am this morning, and the 'Mort Report' was up, and he said something in passing that betrayed the whole ESPN bias.

When asked about the NFC West, Seattle came up, and he said we have "a good team up there. Of course, they are way up there in the Northwest, so we don't talk about them , but they have a good team."

    So from this, I gathered:

    1. The omission of Seahawks news is true.
    2. The omission of Seahawks news is deliberate.
    3. The omission of Seahawks news is something the analysts hold in common. He said, "we".

But that's OK. This is our year. The Seahawks are going to sneak up on their asses and ruin their day.

But then again, when you're 6,7 or 8 and 2, it becomes harder and harder to sneak up on anyone.

  10. Jimmie Johnson just surprised me for making a stupid mistake...

He had his top 5 teams this year...low and behold...

    FOURTH Atlanta
    FIFTH Dallas

    And who did he forget?

Does it really need to be said?

  11. Wow that told more then I already knew going into this afternoon...

I didnt know he challenged McNabb and threatened the rest of the lockerroom

When going over the situation for TEN minutes (unlike ESPN, which spent its 2 hour show on it)...the Fox guys said a team will be desperate enough to sign him...im officially certain he is done with them...and he will sign to a desperate team, but like the Fox guys said...he had his last big payday, and will be lucky to get 2 mill.

Outside McNabb, Douglas was the main guy that had issues with TO before, during training camp

Owens world is falling apart...its sad to see anyone get so cold with the world, but he shoulda quit before it got serious...karma got him back...karma is the story of the year.

  12. From Joe Thighs man :

"It's a shame, really, because Owens is the most physically gifted receiver in the game today. He's big, fast, tough, strong, has great hands, and wants to be the best, but he's stupid. It absolutely amazes me that someone who has so much to give to a team continues to take away. Never in my 31 years around the professional game of football have I seen such a waste and such a degree of selfishness.  "

That's great to see in print.

  13. "I just wish he was on one of the old Raiders or Steelers teams where a guy like Howie Long or Mean Joe Greene would slam him against a locker and tell him to just shut up and play football."

  14. Or perhaps a more recent, Raider - one who has been known to break faces and end careers....

TO isn't just s detriment to his team, he's a detriment to all of football, and I hope that no one signs him. Might teach some civility to some other prima-donna stars.

  15. Raiders or Donko's will sign him, they collect turds. Maybe the ViQueens? They could use a guy like that... ;-)
