The Shaun2K Report: Week 10

Here is the first installment of a new feature. I'm not sure this is a good idea from a team concept, putting such emphasis on individual rushing stats, but it will be so much fun to see how close he gets, I can't help it.

  1. Blue - I love the idea and now I'm crazy jealous to know how to make tables with Blogger!

I'd recommend formatting the average column consistently to two places after the decimal. It could be a good in-masthead tag line too, i.e. "Shaun needs just 886 yards to reach 2K"

So using the techno-jargon for the 2000 Millenium, this could be known as the year 2K37!

  3. alba, you shouldn't be talking about your Peter King on here!!!...decency credibility could come back on your Clayton!!!

ahhh but who cares? Rams lost. We won...hoo hum and a bottle of rum!!!

and Blue, alba said it best...'im jealous of how you know how to make tables on here'...i also like the masthead tagline idea thingy

I really cant believe Shaun is averaging 5.36 yards per carry...thats pretty good for a guy whos rushed 208 times...I think it needs to be said...we have one of the greatest players of ALL TIME in Shaun, and Big Walt

  4. we have one of the greatest players of ALL TIME in Shaun, and Big Walt

Last I checked, they were actually two separate guys!

  5. Add something that shows SA's current yards/game. It's give us a good sense of how realistic it is to SA making 2K. If you do the math he's averaging 123.7/game, just 3 yards below the necessary average. Throw in a couple of big games against, oh I don't know SF, and he could actually make this pretty easy.

  9. Well, Shaun certainly wins the JoSCh best RB this week award. He should pretty easily win the rushing title this year, considering he's about a game ahead of Edge now, 87 yards. I love this and the banner, thanks Blue and all.

  10. Similar vein...

Since 1978 only 7 MVP's teams won the SB.
Of the 6 RBs that are MVP since 78, 3 were in the SB, and 2 won with their team.

Terrell Davis and Emmitt Smith are the winners, Squirmin' Thurman Thomas lost, and Marshall Faulk, Marcus Allen, and Earl Campbell stayed home.

20 QBs have been crowned MVP (or co-MVP), 11 went to the SB, 5 won.

So if these meaningless stats are any indicator, 2/7 of MVP RBs win the SB, and 5/20 QB MVP's win. Therefore old math and rusty brain figure that in 28 tries, 8 RB MVPs will win the SB, and 7 QB MVPs will win the SB, vote for Manning!
