12-2: Welcome Back, Jack
12-2.
The Seahawks are freaking 12-2.
And it's not a dream.
In the back of my mind, I was afraid this would turn into a trap game. It did. The Seahawks survived. But they also semed to gain something from it.
I have to say I was disappointed in the play of the defense. Without any turnovers, this unit can struggle at times. But fortunately, the offense has a way of taking control of a game on its own. It scores when it really needs to. There seems to be a feeling that when their backs are against the wall, there is no stopping them.
Hang on to that feeling! We're gonnna need it.
Feel free to treat this like a post-game reaction thread. The awards will be filling up the blog shortly.
GO SEAHAWKS!!! (and BRING ON INDY!!!)

Remember a bunch of weeks ago where we couldn't really remember a game where the OFFENSE stepped up and won it for us. Well, this has been about the 3rd one this season. I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!

I don't care much for the tied at the half stuff, Marshall should have lost his voice by Wednesday night this week. Bentley can find a new job come next year, ruck up Lewis, ya big sissy. Anyway, nice win, Dolts with no reason to play next week, and possibly us too. Should be a fine snoozer, I'll be eating oysters and not caring hopefully. GO HAWKS!

ReplyDeleteAw, c'mon, let me dream a little!

Keep an eye on what the Titans players say after this game
ReplyDeleteThis was similar to the Giants game, except in THEIR stadium...watch the Titans players be classy about it, and not complain like immature jerks like the Giants did (and the Titans werent spotted 2 touchdowns either)
I had the Seahawks finishing 13-3 this year, or 14-2...I said, along with either Josch or monkey, that this game will be tough (i was also the only one who didnt take Philly seriously...and you saw how that happened...:D...ok cockiness aside)
Just in case there are any pessimists out there...what happened today was pretty much how I expected the game to go (with exception of the tie at halftime)... so there is no reason to worry...besides, the Titans dont play like a 4-9 team
The Titans now have 5 losses when bringing an opponent to their current stadium for the first time (24-5 I think)
Big play Babs should be re-named bad play Babs it seemed like he slipped and fell on every play, what the hell. My boy Trufant came up big though when it really counted. We will really need Dyson and Herndon back in the post season, other than Trufant the other CB's looked like crap.
ReplyDeleteI hate zone defense. For some reason we suck at it or atleast i think we do (does anyone else think so tell me so i know if it's just me or not). I feel that everytime we go into a zone defense the opposing offense exploits it. We do much better in man to man or atleast i think again let me know what yall think.
I felt the offense did a fine job. They marched down the field and scored when they needed to the most. With Jackson back i think our offense really is unstoppable. Defenses must respect the pass and that will help the run. Stack the box watch D-Jack and Bobby Engram eat you up for big gains. I don't think any defense can match up to our offense.
What happened to the pass rush today. I don't know if the Titans have that good of an o-line or if our d-line just were'nt upto the task either way i think we needed to send more guys cause 4 men wasn't gettin the job done.
But what the hell we won and if the Bears lose tonight next Sunday we'll be watchin a pre-season game.
Woow lets go Senneca, MoMo, Weaver and the rest of the backups.

Maybe Babs will get the Monkey Banana Peel Award this week??!!
ReplyDeleteI agree that our zone coverage is not working that well. I like man coverage better, especially if they're more physical at the line.
Not sure what happened with our pressure. McNair is pretty shifty, even for a 82-year old warrior!

lol nice take on the the banana peel, Alba...and good points from o-meezy
ReplyDeleteTheir oline actually has been struggling lately...kinda odd we didnt get a sack

I'm with alba, I think the sackless effort was due in large part to McNifty's"shiftiness" ;)

Won't be seeing much of that against Manning, and do't get me started about the Packer's O-line.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking 14-2.

ReplyDeleteI have been bitching about that particular defense ALL YEAR LONG! No you're not crazy, the coaching staff is for continuing to use it.
In every game that we have played this year, that particular defense has been attrocious, it has allowed opponents who are clearly inferior to have a chance.
Frankly I am disgusted with the defensive coaching staff for not seeing it by now, I mean what does it take for them to figure out that that zone D is HORRIBLE!
In fact, our D today couldn't stop anything until they went to man coverage, then instantly they looked better again. HOW DO THEY NOT GET IT?!?
Monkey good to know it wasn't just me. I realized it through out the year but today it was killin me.I just had to mention it.
ReplyDeleteNote to Marshall: MAN UP AND PLAY SOME DEFENSE

The zone D is required... it is the bend don't break defense, keeping the play in front of the defenders. Frankly our corners aren't that good, Tru included. Not saying he's bad, but he isn't a cover corner. Nor is Dyson, Herndon, Babs, or Williams. Look for a first round CB in the draft next year.
ReplyDeleteGood route running will exploit zone. Huge guys like Troupe and Bennett also have an advantage with their size, even when they are fairly well *zone covered* they can get the catch because their height and strength.
I rarely see us play straight man coverage, with safeties rolling, it's almost always zone, except maybe on running downs.
Titans handled the blitz GREAT yesterday, but that was a product of having plenty in to block, and letting the receivers fight for the ball in the zones. They knew they had a pretty good pressure team coming in and they handled it, especially since they have the type of receivers to play that way. I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's not like the scheme is going to change, they're still the second best at TDs allowed to Chicago. And the O is the best at scoring them... relax.
