Seahawks/ Colts not so different after all
All the following information comes froma story on ESPN ...from their insider section. To make life easy i took the highlights and posted here. If you have insider great read. The title is Seattle Indy...closer then you know. The story starts off by talkning about how tommorrows game has lost a lot of its flair...which we all know. Then it goes on to say how he got laughed at by saying that the 2 teams are actually very similar or carbon copies. so he goes off to research the the teams and here is what he found:
Seattle number one Offense - 381.3 yards per game Colts number four - 371 yards per game
Rushing offense Hawks are number four - 156.1 yards per game Colts are 12th with 117.8 Passing offense colts are number 3- 253.2 yards per game Hawks are 12th - 225.1 yards per game Manning best QB in the AFC Hass best QB in th NFC.
At this point he talks about how eveyone says that the Hawks have not beaten anybody ....and then goes on to say hold on...neither have the Colts: Combined records of the teams face: The colts faced teams that are a combined 87-109 The Hawks faced teams that are a combined 78-118 Thats a difference of nine wins!!! 9 wins seperates unbeatable to "not the best team in the NFC" .
On Defense: The hawks rank 7Th against the rush The Colts rank 10th against the rush Against the Pass: The hawks are 24th The colts are 13th Sacks: The Colts are 2nd in the league The Hawks are 3rd in the league.
Well there it is in black and white...the teams are actaully very close ..but the general belief is that indy is great while the Hawks are just ok. The author goes to offer a reason why...and thats because the colts play in the heart of the country compared to the far west coast. his other reason ...is that it is fashionable to support the AFC and the NFC is just out of style. from what I see here...its time to destroy this team and then blast our to the super bowl ...Maybe the Ranger shirt says it best: "Kill them all...and let God sort them out"
Go Hawks... No Mercy!!!!!!

heres how i see a game between seattle and Indy. It's a full blown shootout. Indy's defense can't stop Seattle and Seattle's defense can't stop Seattle. Whoever has the ball last wins. Time of possesion thats the key run Alexander like crazy. Give him 40 carries, Mack Strong 10 carries, Morris 10 carries, Weaver and Scobey get 5 carries a piece. Only throw if it is 3rd and long. There d-line is only good at pass rushing and can't stop the run. The linebackers are undersized. Pound them in and out. Make each drive 10 minutes if possible. We will be sure to win that way. But i have to admit this sounds cynical but what the hell i am not an NFL coach.
ReplyDeleteNow that i think about it their secondary sucks too. They like to hit hard and not tackle. Why is everyone praising their Defense all they do is get a few sacks and other than that they suck. I totally 1000% believe we are better than them. This game will be more of a coaching duel than a players.
That extra zero isn't a typo.

ReplyDeleteLOL, That's classic. Maybe even bucketworthy.

I don't like to praise myself (in realit i do i really do) but put that in the bucket Blue.
ReplyDeleteSeattle is like Chad Johnson we can't stop ourselves even if we tried.

It irritates the crap outta me that people say Seattle is a so-so team. They finally get good and all naysayers can do is...well, naysay! I believe we have a chance tomorrow, and I will be rooting for my Hawks to kick some Colt's A$$!!

First o-meezy when are you going to send an email to bluefoot about becoming a contributor?
ReplyDeleteSecond, as long as Seattle maintains a balanced offense, we can control time of possesion enough to win this upcoming.
Seattle's D needs to get pass pressure with only four rushers to be effective.
If they can do those two big things they can win.
