mon-KEYS to the Game

I am going to appologize in advance for the fact that this edition of mon-KEYS will probably be the worst one I have ever done here.
It's not my fault though, it's not my fault that the Hawks have already wrapped up homefield advantage throughout and have absolutely nothing to play for other than keeping the win streak alive, and maybe some personal records. It's not my fault that the offensive studs like Hasselbeck, Alexander, Jones etc... will likely only see two drives at most.

In any case, here are the mon-KEYS for whatever they are worth considering I have absolutely no idea how much or even if our starters will even play.

  1. Monkey, nice work. And by the way, I HEARD THAT!!! I was listening to the ESPN broadcast at the time, and HAD NO IDEA it was you, but beleive me, I was cheering you on, unbenknowingly.

Another thing that blows away their "lucky, you only won because of Feely's misses" argument is pointing out the fact that the NFL acknowledges that one of the Midget's TD's were in error, and that the three missed field goals should never have occured in the first place, and that they would have gone home losing by a touchdown anyway. That usually shuts them up.

But you know what? The games in January will shut them best of all.

Kudos on the phone call, though. You are THE MAN!!!

  2. Monkey, I know the recent creativity shown by Alan and Bokonon has the rest of us a little on edge, but there's no reason to apologize for this post. It's spot-on and your usual good work.

By any chance, did you tape that radio interview? I would be the balls to post it on here via the audio blog. (much better than my singing voice I'm sure!) I heard a caller from Fargo on the radio the other day, but I don't think it was you. I would have remembered that classic exchange.

    Now, onto your analysis.

O-KEY #1 - abso-f#cking-lutely! The easiest way to get hurt is to play less than 100%, and the last thing we want is to have to leave our starters in there longer than necessary to build a comfortable lead. It'll be cold, might be snowy, and the Packers are a shadow of the team they started the season with...let's make this Philly Game II.

O-KEY #2 - posi-f#cking-tively! We're one all-out blitz away from having AVIS take snaps that really matter, so let's get the boy some quality playing time and see what he can do. We're going to be resting Hutch and Walter Jones, who oh by the way is listed as QUESTIONABLE with a back problem today, so it's not like MoMo and Weaver are going to burn up the field with the ground game. Besides, if you give Favre a fighting chance to stay in a game, it's your fault if he beats you.

D-KEY #1 - ex-f#cking-zactly! Guys like Niko and Kaz have been dying for playing time all year, and Terrill and Tafoya will be playing longer than usual, so let's dominate at teh point of attack and force the Packers to become one-dimentional. And we all know what happens when Mr. Favre needs to start throwing it on every down!

D-KEY #2 - in-f#cking-dubitibly! Last year our receivers couldn't catch a cold in a rainstorm! This year our d-backs inherited the dropsies. I swear we lead the league in ALMOST interceptions, although it's certainly better than the drive killing drops of the previous season.

A defensive key that you didn't mention, or my disability caused me to skim over is PLEASE GOD NO MORE THREE MAN RUSH AND SOFT ZONES!!!  Favre's not going to throw too many picks if he has all day long to survey the field, waiting for his second-string receivers to find a safe spot in our coverage.

We have to come after him like we need this game to get into the playoffs. Again, anything less than 100% is an invitation to the injury bug.

Got home from work yesterday and flipped on NFL Network, and guess what they were replaying...the Seahawks-Packer game from the playoffs two years ago. Damn it sucked to see that dread-locked mutant racing down the field to end our season.

So you're right, it's PAYBACK time. Even if we are meeting up with the high school bully when he's 65, on life-support and in a wheelchair, he deserves a good ASS KICKING nonetheless, and it would be wrong not to deliver it.

The temperature in Lambeau at gametime should be just around the freezing point, and you know what they say, REVENGE IS A DISH BEST SERVED COLD!

  3. LOL I can't believe anyone heard that call I was pretty pumped about it, cuz he really had nothing to say afterwards. He just said that I made good points and then rambled about how he just doesn't believe yet, good grief, I could say I just don't belive that the Colts are any good without giving any logical reasons whatsoever, can I have his job??? I mean really, what a dolt!

  4. i can't believe i missed that, i wish i would have heard monkey it sports writers are idiots they probably have never watched a Seahawks game and just say stuff they hear from other guys who didn't watch the game either and just saw some highlights of Feely missin some field goals.

I wanna see Spencer in action. Pull Tobeck out and let the rookie go. If he can be dominant like Jones and Hutch we will be great for years to come cause Womack will play the RG in place of Terry. Just imagine about that line

    Jones, Hutchison, Spencer, Womack, Locklear!
I can be a 1000 yard back behind that line.

Monkey agreed open the playbook. Don't simplify anything. Let Wallace throw the ball downfield, imagine the sarters are in. I also want to Warrick, who got a whole bunch of money (I know his contract was incentive full) and has done alot of nothin. This game should be fun.

The defense should get a whole bunch of turnovers even though their is only one DB and LB in who started at the beginning of the year.

I can't believe i missed Monkey ranting on the radio.

  5. JoSCh-Key 1... get Shaun one (preferably two) rushing TDs. Right now Priest holds the *rushing TDs record* (I haven't heard anyone say this yet, but when HOF time comes around some dipshit will), I'd like to see Shaun get that.

    JoSCh-Key 2... Don't get hurt.

Agree with your monkey, other than the Saint Brett stuff. He didn't just start being stupid with the ball, he's always been that way, and that is why he is great. Unfortunately he doesn't have anyone to protect him, anyone to take the pressure off him by running, or anyone who can catch other than Driver. He is still good, he just needs a little help. I would say if anything, he's pressuring himself too much to carry the load, that is where the picks happen.
