Citizen K Likes This Award

We saw the predictions: "24-9," "42-3," "56-0." The result today was a lot closer than any of those scores, even the most conservative ones. However, looking at the big picture, the ultimate result today was being one step closer to homefield advantage and--dare we say--the best...(read the rest of this sentence--and lots more--at Citizen K Likes This)

  3. As usual, good stuff Cit K.
Every once in a while when I am reading your posts, I think back to the days at the P-I when Bluefoot (boomdiggydiggy) yourself and a few others would go off on something and have so much fun.
I remeber when Blue was setting up this blog and he asked me and couple others, who else we should invite, and my first immediate response was, we GOTTA get Munch here, he's just too good not to be here.
    You haven't lost it bud.

  4. Sorry CitK, was just shutting down last night to turn in when I saw the condition of the blog...didn't have time to read your piece until this morning, and I'm REALLY glad I did.

Had to stop mid way, to drop a little something in the quote bucket, but even though I'm a well documented skimmer, I read, and enjoyed, every word.

Good points on the difference between "hope" and "expectation", and yes, it is a beautiful feeling.

Now you know why most visitors to this blog look forward to Mondays, because they not only "expect" the Seahawks to win, but they have also come to "expect" some seriously funny shit in this award post, and you've yet to disappoint!

However, much like the Seahawks, we're all going to have to step it up and take out blogging game to the next level come playoff time!!

Until then, I'll be having my 7-year old son handle the MGA awards, as we've decided to rest me as the starter!

  5. "the Colts have matched up against as many pathetic weaklings as a Las Vegas streetwalker during Comdex"  Who doesn't appreciate some good geek/hooker humor.

Kevin Bentley... dead to me. I thought he was horrible. Although that may be because I was only noticing his bad plays. I thought even on his tackles he was drug, and got too many from behind, not taking them on in front of him.

Hope/expectation... there was a time I was worried. On the first drive of the 3rd quarter I said "If they punt, thats it." And they did. But it wasn't. I guess I'm just not 100% convinced, and that's my right. But I'm getting closer. Great win indeed. Great post as always.

  6. CitK I think someone should start a poll about that, because I totally get your reasoning, totally, but I disagree.
Personally I think it would be better if we beat them, so that we have the confidence that we can do it again in the Superbowl.
If the Colts do beat us, it may give the Hawks the impression that the Colts are just too good.
In my mind, the biggest reason that the Chargers beat the COlts, is because they believed they could. They played them down to the wire last season, and in preparing for yesterdays game, they focused on tape from last year, when they nearly beat them, and they played the same type of game plan defensively. The Chargers all week reinded themselves of how closely they played them last year, and how they KNEW that they could beat them, and so they did.
I think that the Hawks will also need that kind of confidence, they will need to KNOW that they can win, or they will not, so I would rather have the win at home next week.
Plus I hate to see us lose at home ever, that too could shake the teams confidence, and give other teams the belief that they can come to our house and beat us.
The Giants already think that they can just based on that last game against us, I don't like the confidence they have at all, it worries me. I want to have that kind of confidence going against the Colts in the Bowl if we get there.

  7. Four, or more really, possible scenarios, if you throw the Seattle backups in. Regardless, the score at half-time will be a pretty good barometer, although I'd think that Holmgren will hold back on both offense and defense, as far as showing anything new as far as plays. And probably won't have the D blitzing any more than normal, you don't want them to know we know... ya know?
