monkey's Banana Peel Award

The award given to the offensive and defensive players who best slip up the opposition.

I think that this was the most complete game the Hawks have played yet this season; everything was clicking offense, defense, running, passing, run D, pass D,...this was simply a great all around game. Homefield advantage throughout the playoffs sure will be nice.

Since the score says everything that needs to be said about this game, I will get straight to the awards.

  1. Well done Mr. Monkey. Nothing to argue with there.

Who would have thought that Lofa Tatupu would be to the Banana Peel Award what Shaun Alexander is to JoSCh's Best RB Award??!!

  2. But you cannot argue with what Lofa has done, he DESERVES it. He has simply done the most to slip up the competition this year in nearly every game this season.
If I were to give a season long Banana Peel award, (which I may do at the end of this wonderful ride) it would clearly go to Lofa for defense. Offensively it would probably go ot SA though that is more debateable than Lofa, who has simply been our best defender this year as the numbers prove.

  3. Hass was the hands down choice can't argue with that, and Babs was good but what about my boy Tru (alba can Tru be my boy) not even an honorable mention, I mean Lofa got one (rightfully deserving i might add).

I think this was Trufantys best game. His coverage was excellent had great tackles the refs were on something by calling pass interference on him. He was ridiculously good today and he was alway smiling everytime the camera was on him which shows he's havin fun. Come on am i the only one who noticed this.

Dude was great today, can he please get an honorable mention. Has he gotten the Bannana peel award yet.

  4. o-meezy - I got no claims on Tru so he's all yours!!

You're right, he did play well, and that PI call was bogus.

  8. omeezy,
I actually woke up this morning thinking that I hsould have given a shout out to Trufant, who as you said, played his best game yet.
You're absolutely right, he was terrific this game, he had some sweet passes defensed and some beautiful tackles in run support.
You'll have to forgive me on that one, I really should have given him some props on the great game hehad.

  9. Come to think of it, I really should have given a shout out to Marcus Tubbs as well, two sacks a forced fumble and a knocked down pass. He was phenomenal!

  10. Warren Moon as a racist...LOL.

Reminds me of the Dave Chappell bit where he was a blind leader of the KKK. Funny stuff.

  12. Can't argue those, Hass looked great, best he's looked all year, even without the gaudy stats. Nice to see him going downfield too, he hasn't done that much yet this year. Babs, Tru, Lofa, Tubbs, all of them looked great. 3 pts allowed in the last 2 games? Fricking amazing, weak opponents be damned, that's domination. So is anyone else hoping for a Chi win so vs. Indy both teams play their starters? I know I am, I want to see them measured up.
