Crying Like A Baby

Aging Cornerback Bobby Taylor (shown in a recent photo) continues the new tradition of departed Seahawks trashing the team and organization on the way out of Seattle, ala Chike Okeafor and Ken Lucas, in the article from the Duluth News Tribune.

"...he (Taylor) said he was happy they released him. He didn't like what was going on there (Seattle). And he actually paid tribute to the Eagles, because he said that that team didn't have the structure we have here (Philly), and they didn't run it as well as Coach Reid does here."

I'm willing to admit that with enough guys making reference to the lousy team attitude last season, there's gotta be some truth to it, but whatever happened to keeping your mouth shut, not burning bridges, and being a professional?

  1. Wow, that is a good find Cap'n. Are you an avid reader of The Duluth News Tribune?

As far as bad-mouthing on your way out, he said that to his buddy, and his buddy told the media a paraphrased version of what he though he heard.

Plus Bobby is looking for a job and he knows we ain't giving him one at any price, Philly is his best shot, or maybe NE.

  2. I'd like to take credit for the find but the source was actually the PI fan forum.

  3. The types of players who left or where cut, I normally wouldn't believe were being truthful about the problems, and would write it off as sour grapes; except that one of those guys was one of the most honest and forthcoming individuals who has ever played in a Hawks uniform, Trent Dilfer. The rest I could chalk up to sour grapes, but Dilfer admitted to the problems as well.
Aslo remember the big deal last year that was made out of the Hawks attempts to forge some kind of chemistry? THey went so far as to try holding hands in the huddle. This also tells me alot. I think there really were alot of chemistry issues last season, which mostly came from a dysfunctional FO situation with Whittless in charge. Hopefully this season, with all the turnover, we can start with a clean slate, and forge a new winning chemistry. I'll go on record as saying that we do, that the Hawks actually become a team this season, known for the great team chemistry, because of the new guys added by Ruskell.
OK Vin, you can pass me some more Kool-Aid now.

  6. I'm a little confused by the comment posted by monkey. I've heard all the comments made by the guys who left except for Trent. I have not heard any bad comments made by him. What did he say?

  7. Actually Trent Dilfer called into KJR Radio in Seattle and said that there were alot of problems last season chemistry wise. This is pretty old news, it happened back in January, I posted a transcript of the call here, it prompted quite a lot of debate here as you might imagine.

  8. but Trent earned our respect before he left

people shouldnt start crap for no reasons, ESPECIALLY if they didnt produce (cough*taylor*cough)

Trent is ok, as he did it professionally...Okeafor came off as whining, and Taylor came off as bitter, but who knows, after all its an Eagle transferring the comments to the media

  10. Any respect Dilfer earned, he lost with his statements. Why do guys do that? I don't trash former employer's, but especially not former co-worders! Here's hoping Bobby signs with St. Louis!

  11. I don't see how Trant's comments could be considered trashing anyone.....he simply stated the truth....as was pointed out later. The problem guys were guys like Simmons and others, guys that are not here anymore.

Perhaps also teh rift between Mike and Bob or mike and Shaun. All I know is he was dead on in his evaluation of the team.... poor chemistry, and several bad attitudes.

  12. Trent's comments being true or not is not the issue. Take care of the problem while you are here, don't bring it to light after you leave. Maybe Trent tried to work this out, I don't know, but don't go public after you leave!
