Seahawks Sign Howell!

Pulling some information out of "my Clayton", according to ESPN.com cutting Robinson and Taylor allowed us to formalize the deal with Howell.

Looks like Timmy is really concentrating on the problems of dropped passes and getting beat deep.

**** ORIGINAL POST ****
According to KFFL, the Seahawks are soon to sign former Buccaneers Safety John Howell. (not pictured!)

His stats aren't too great, missing half of the 2003 season, but otherwise playing the full season his other 4 years, amassing 75 tackels, 14 assists and no sacks. Must be one of these "high potential character guys" from Ruskell's former life.

Of course, with a name like Howell, shouldn't he be playing for "Lovie" Smith in Chicago??!!

  2. I'd be all for the new name and the color scheme change, as long as we can trade with them even up on Cheerleaders!

  4. Just out of curiosity, how much are we paying this stiff?

  5. We're not paying him anything YET as this is purley speculation at this point.

Decent signing, cheap, the Hammer needs a backup.

  9. So GOX if Boulware or Hamlin get hurt what do we do without this 'stiff'?

  10. Still, BFD. We've just signed a potential back up. This is not big news. This is not a Jamie Sharper signing, not even a JJ or Pathon signing. It is dwarfed by a potential Peter Boulware signing. It is another ho-hum deal. Let us not get so caught up in our own team as to believe that every thing we do is a big deal, that would make us Rams fans.

I lump this one in there with signing Bently form CLE, but not quite to the level of signing Darby from the Bucs.

  11. Easy check, with nothing else going on what's wrong with discussing the most recent news? You're a bit on edge today huh? Hung over, or just a bad weekend?

  12. And check, honestly doesn't the pic on this post make it worth it anyway. That is one funny pic, esp for a football site. Man, I can't wait to be old and crazy like Thurston, cocktails and ree-fricking-diculous clothes. If only I was rich...

  14. once again:

    I rather have THESE cheerleaders

but they have some good ones, too...

anyways, there are two good things with this Howell signing:

    1. he is signed for one purpose, special teams...2 or 3 players still wont make special teams great...so signign 15 is a lot better

    2. Hamlin can actually rest...he is one of EIGHT nfl players on the defense to play EVERY snap last season...although it sounds pretty honorable...he played with injuries alot...not because they were pathetic injuries, but because we really had noone to back him up...Howell gives us a chance to sit Hamlin every once in awhile (for a minute or two) to rest when needed...otherwise he's going to end up injured several more times...and eventually could land a severe injury

    i like this signing...im not 100% on Boulware...though i do want him...

  15. Hey vin, I'm not angry, and the BFD is not in response to the post, it's in response to the actual signing. See the post is here for us to voice our opinions of the signing, and my opinion of the signing is "BFD."
