Mili in Camp and Lighter

The external link takes you to a story which most have probably already read, and which I believe has already been linked here, so for those of you who have already seen it, or for those of you who don't want to read another long story just to get to the point of this thread, here is the statement:

"Veteran tight end Itula Mili appeared considerably trimmer after reporting to the previous camp at 290 pounds. Mili’s weight tends to fluctuate during the offseason. …"

Needless to say, I think this is very good news, while I am still believing that Stevens is about to finally have a real breakthrough season, it always helps to stack the deck. After the contract Mili signed last year, and given the fact that he has been among the most reliable hands guys on this team, this is simply good news.

  1. And you never know, Holmie might be able to come up with some 2 tight plays.

  2. Wouldn't that be a nice change of pace! Something a little original would certainly be welcome!

  3. I think this is a classic example of what competition at a position can do for not only the team, but for the players. Stevens comes in looking like a #1 contender and I think Mili realized he needed to get right if he was going to continue to hold on the starting TE spot. Now, if one goes down we shouldn't lose anything by going to a back-up.

  4. I agree SF Hawk, which is another reason DJ should want to be in camp.

  5. Itula "Never Miss A" Mili will be there and almost on shape.

I hate to see this guy a year or two after football. Dude will need a fire truck to get him out of the bedroom.

  6. Jumbo set with Urban and Mr. Viscious would be supa-bad-ass. It'd look like an NBA team in the endzone!

  8. The more I think about it, the more I love that Jumbo look. I say we draw up at least 5-6 plays for that and use the set a couple times a game. Man that coule be HUGE!

  9. wasnt Seattle the #1 fittest city?

I knew Mili couldn't avoid all those gyms too long...besides, the side of the city he was on was sinking because of him...

  10. Did everyone hear his reasoning? Something about how he didn't want to put undo stress on his body by keeping his weight down during the offseason, or losing it too quickly. My kind of rationalization!
