Good job on this alba. Should become a sticky.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting reading what the so called experts think about our draft. THey all acknowlege that we reached in some spots, most notably the Tatupu pick but they are also grading us up for making the best of a bad situation when no one would trade up with us. They also usually grade us up for quality people that we drafted. Some "experts" are starting to get the fact that character counts. Some thing which I have always believed. I'll never believe we had to trade away two fourth round picks to get Tatupu but I do believe that very soon we will all be glad he's on our team. Spencer may or may not have been a slight reach but not enough of a reach that we should get knocked too much for it. Besides the Hawks FO is adamant that he was the BPA at 26.
Dissapointing to hear that most of this draft is considered to be special teams help though. It seems that the only two guys who even the FO think could start and/or see any real playing time this year are our first two picks, Spencer and Tatupu. That's not what Ruskell said he wasnted outof this draft, remember he said he would get three or more starters out of it. Too bad, but good character quality player all the same. I am now on board the wait and see bandwagon because I think that Spencer has a real chance to be a pro bowler for years to come, maybe they will play him at right guard this season and swith him to center next year when Tobeck retires? Tatutpu also has a chance to be a very good LB for a long time. We'll see on the rest.
Anyone else watch Q it up Sports last night with recently-retired Chad Eaton as a guest co-host? Having grown up with Chad, I decided to check it out. Man has he lost weight! It was hilarious seeing Dan Devone get constantly out-witted by Chad, especially when Devone tried to patronize Chad, saying "You look pretty!"
ReplyDeleteThen when Hass entered the room, and Devone was posing questions (mainly to Hass) about the draft, Chad (in his usual big bully manner) was saying how bad the draft sucked, and that they needed defense. Poor Hass was trying to get his say in, though being much more tactful. I got distracted and had to turn the TV off when Hass was talking about Spencer, but it was funny just watching Chad make the usual oaf out of himself.
The big joke in high school our senior year was that Chad had to wait to get to WSU because he couldn't bump up his SAT scores high enough to even get into WSU. After, like, 3 or 4 attempts, he finally just barely met the minimum score (by like 5 points or less).
Positive Paul, you went to Rogers? Me too, 1990, year before Chad.
ReplyDeleteOn other site people are wondering if the reason for the huge amount of weight loss is steriods
ReplyDeleteJosh - yep. Go Rams! Okay, that can get me shot, lynched, and mugged around here. I'm not talking about the formerly-from-L.A.-Rams, though, I'm talking about the Rogers Rams...
ReplyDeleteDidn't Rogers' football team finally beat Puyallup's a few years back, for the first time in like 20 years???
Chad was always big. Always. Even in jr. high. He worked out a lot, and could throw entire stacks of weights across the room (he always had quite the temper). I will never forget the yearbook picture of him in jr. high with his head shaved like The Boz, his idol. That was too funny!
