Hall of Famer Largent, Back to Work After a Stroke.

Washington, DC - Steve Largent, the former U.S. Congressman who ran for governor of Oklahoma three years ago, is returning to work today after undergoing tests following what doctors believe may have been a minor stroke.

Largent, now President and CEO of the Wireless Association, fell ill last week and checked into a hospital. He underwent two days of testing, but doctors could not determine the kind of stroke or what caused it.

Born in Tulsa, Largent played college football at the University of Tulsa before a 14-year NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks. He was inducted in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995.

In 1994, Largent was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he spent eight years before resigning to run for governor of Oklahoma in 2002. He was narrowly defeated by current Governor Brad Henry.

Largent became President and CEO of the Wireless Association in 2003.

  1. YIKES!! Let's hope he pulls through okay.

I guess the pressure of having his jersey number un-retired finally caught up with him!

    OMG I am DYING LMAO!!!
Don't let Vinny see this comment or we'll likely have another 12 rounder on our hands. He didn't think it was a big deal and I think the whole unretiring a jersey thing was symptomatic of a much larger problem, which seems to be clearing up with the firing of Dipsh*t Bob Whitless.
