Seeing this image of Matt, and thinking about our Free Agency pick ups of roll players with great potential, or quality guys on the downside of their careers, maybe this could be the unofficial nickname for our team this season:

"The Salvation Army!"

  1. Alba, the Salvation Army is certainly a worthy cause and a distinguished organization, but do we really want our Hawks referred to as a charity? Maybe as charitable, like we won't run up the scores on hapless NFC West victims, but not a charity.

Plus, this type of thing gets out and pretty soon everyone is ringing bells at the games ala mall Santa... that would be worse than rally monkey (No offense Monkey).

  2. You make a good point JoSCh, but can you think of any other team in more need of some Salvation??!!

  3. Besides, I'm just waiting to see this show up as a headline in one of the Seattle rags, and then I'll KNOW they're lifting my stuff from this site!!

  5. Vin, gotta give props to Mr. Mike Reinfeldt too.

    Alba, to quote Jules Winnfield...

I been sayin' that Salvation Army speech for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant you lost. I never really questioned what it meant.

I thought it was just a cold-blooded thing to say to a team 'fore you popped another score on the board. But I saw something this mornin'

made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin', it could mean the team is the charity. And the NFL is the salvation. And Mr. Parity here, he's the

army protecting the teams ass in the valley of darkness. Or is could be I am the salvation and the fans are the army and it's the rest of

the NFL that is the charity. I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is Ruskell and Reinfeldt are the salvation, the team is

the army, and the fans are the charity. But I'm tryin'. I'm tryin' real hard to be a part of the army

  6. JoSCh - Great paraphrase from one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite movies. (and SLJ got robbed at Oscar time!)

Here's another: "Johnny Rocky-Horror's got a weight problem, but I wouldn't call the brother fat!"

  7. I was gonna suggest we call Tubbs Marky Rocky-Horror, but with the Retardinals new duds thread, it seems like an insult.

  8. Probably a good decision!

Now let's hope that Ruskell rounds up "a bunch of hard-ass, pipe-hitting PLAYERS who come in an get Midevel on the rest of the NFL!"

"I don't eat LAMB...a LAMB is a filthy animal that is too stupid to disregard its own feces!"
