Webster Heading To Seattle After Draft

A league source tells us that, promptly after the upcoming NFL draft, Bucs director of college scouting Ruston Webster will be leaving Tampa to rejoin former colleague Tim Ruskell with the Seattle Seahawks.

Webster became the Bucs' director of college scouting on June 18, 2001, the same day that Ruskell was promoted from that position into the job of director of player personnel. (Ruskell, by the way, was replacing Jerry Angelo, who became the Bears General Manager in June 2001.)

After Ruskell left Tampa for Atlanta with G.M. Rich McKay, Webster stayed behind. His role in Seattle isn't presently clear, but our guess is that he'll basically be Ruskell's right-hand man.

Pass me some more of that Kool-Aid Ruskell, Monkey Likey!

  1. We'll take all the help we can get!

If this is true, it looks like Ruskell's settling in for the long haul.
