Hass on Q It Up

from a thread on the Seahawks.NET fan forum...

For those who don't live in the Seattle area, Q it Up Sports is a weekly sports show that airs on the local Fox affiliate every Sunday evening at 10:30PM PST.

They bring in a local sports guy and as the post says, Hass was this weeks in studio guest. Former Hawk DT Chad Eaton was also in studio.Several topics:

1. The draft - Said Spencer was a good pick-up (Obviously) however, when Easton suggested he will play RG, Hass commented he will stay on the sideline and wait his turn at Center. He also suggested no one from this year's rookie class will start.

2. D-Jack - not showing up for off-season program. Not good.

3. Shaun Alexander - Said he deserved some of the criticism for his infamous comments after the ATL game. The host said something about his soft running style and Hass handled this pretty well...said he's running and practicing hard ... was really commitment to the team last year.

4. JoeJ, Pathon & K-Rob: In Hass' words, JoeJ and Pathon are true professionals. They were catching passes at Hawk HQ before the ink on their contracts were dry. In fact, he was surprised since the majority of WR's that are at HQ are the young guys.

As for K-Rob, he's a former first rd pick and quite frankly, Hass said he's acting like one. In addition, the team's never had real competition at the WR position since Holmy first arrived so Hass seems to be very pleased with the JoeJ and Pathon signings.

You'd better watch your back Koren, there's guys sneaking up on you to take your job!

WTF does that mean? I though first rd WR picks caught footballs, and if the opportunity arose, they ran them in the direction of the endzone. Larry Fitz, Roy Williams, Lee Evans. Reggie W gets a pass because leftwich ain't that good, Jimmy Smith still is amazingly, and frankly how can anybody compete with the great Ernest Wilford. K-Rob is not at work, I guess some first rounders do that before their first contract is signed... but he has his. I really wish he would put up this year, or hang em up if he can't/won't get serious about kicking his problems.

  2. JoSCh - remember, this is a chat room subscriber recapping something he saw the night before, so it may be a tad out of context!

I too thought that was an odd comment, unless it's referring to a "my sh!t don't stink" attitude.

And if that's what Matt is referring to, it won't be long before Ruskell hits the flush handle, and watches Mr. K-Drop and his odorless crap go swirling down the drain!

  3. Thank you for getting this alba, you made my day.

What Hass meant by the comment about K Bong is that he's acting like a spoiled first rounder who thinks he doesn't have to work hard!

  4. and might I point out...that's a very good example of 'why' we didn't take any egos in the draft.

  5. First, let me copy and paste what I said in the Az-Zahir post:

and I must say this, because things are heating up against him...Ruskell would probably say something if D Jack wasnt showing up at camps if it werent for a good reason...KRob I wont defend, but DJack has been a good WR for us...the only problem is how he drops passes...by knocking them back in the air to be picked off...

DJack might not be as good as Torry Holt, but for awhile his stats were right on par, if not, then better this past season...he caught a lot of passes, and even played after his father died...I think him and SA are misunderstood...everyone says they arent team players, but a good example to use for defending their dedication---DJack played the day his father died, and SA played the day his FIRST child was born...

you guys may disagree with DJack and SA...but in my mind and opinion, I think they may be getting too much heat on them...

    KRob though...has issues...

    TO ADD ON:

I dont see how you guys are happy Hasselbeck has taken the leadership role...ever since he said 'we will take the ball so we can score'...he has shown his leadership...I love seeing pictures of him after a close loss...where he is pumping his fists, and slamming the ground...

    hes the man...
