Pathon's Place!

According to another breaking story on Seahawks.com, we've signed Jerome Pathon!

Over seven years, he has accumulated 259 receptions, 3,335 yards and 15 touchdowns with a career-high 50 catches twice (1998 and 2000 seasons), 646 yards (2000) and four touchdowns twice (2002 and 2003).

Judging from this photo, he's got good concentration, knows how to "look" the ball into his hands, and can CATCH!

The next few phone calls K-Rob makes should be to his agent, his dealer, and a moving company!

More on this signing from Yahoo!
(thanks JFSC!)

OOooo, no sarcasm there at all! LOL!

I said in my fealess predictions thread that K Rob is on his way out of town and the more recievers we bring in (who can actually catch the ball) the more I am convinced that I am right.

  4. You know, many Hawks fans will be tempted to give a big "who cares" to this signing, and I would tend to agree except that, Pathon is actually quite fast, and is a decent return guy, who could help our special teams quite a bit. I actually like this pick up. It adds depth (mostly uneeded sure) but it also gives us a threat in the return game, something we haven't had in years. He will also have come cheap I'm sure.

Yep, K Rob is finished here in Seattle I think, and he's being replaced by guys who aren't nearly as talented but who can actually catch the fireakin ball and actually care about playing football and winning. I like it. I still think that Jurivicius will turn out to be as big an offseason pick up as Sharper will. Guys like Vicius want to win, want to work hard and compete. They don't dick around in practice, (or sleep in late) and they will give their best effort every time. I would rather go to war with 30 guys who want to fight than 100 guys who are talented but don't care, anytime. Keep passing that Kool-Aid Ruskell, monkey likey!

  5. Looking again at the pix on the Seahawks.com site, looks like dude is already planning on augmenting his Seahawks salary with endorsement deals from Izod, Rolex and a bottled water company!

  6. My question is what does the starting lineup look like now, assuming K-Drop is gone? Jackson and Jurevicios 1 and 2, Pathon #3? What happens to Engram? He and Pathon have pretty similar stats, Pathon is a little bigger and little younger. I can't see them bringing him in not to take a spot, and I feel the same way about Joe J, so what is the plan with Bobby?

Monkey, he hasn't returned kicks since 2000. not saying he couldn't, just may not want to.

  7. I'm sure Ruskell's plan is to put them all in a ring and let them fight it out for the starting job.

Those that can catch will be starting. Those that can kinda-catch will be sitting. Those that can't catch will be job hunting.

"Throw enough $hit against a wall, and some of it is gonna stick." This seems to be the Ruskell approach to free agency!

  8. You know, although i think alot of it was coach-speak, Holmgren seemed pretty confident that Koren was staying. I think these signings are great, but are mostly for depth and "in case of emergency" signings.
