Alexander traded?!?

This may be premature, but in surfing around I have discovered reports coming out of Philadelphia radio stations that say the Eagles and Seahawks have worked out a trade that would send Alexander to the Eagles for Brian Westbrook and a second round draft pick.

Again, this may be premature, but I nailed it early on the Dilfer thing, and also the Eagles had showed alot of interest in Alexander, remember McNabb talking to Alexander about becoming an Eagle.

Although this is unconfirmed, I think it may be right, if anyone can find out more, please post any details.

  1. I read something about that on sportsline.com, but thought it was probably false. If it's true, hopefully we pull the 34th overall pick (Miami's 2nd rounder) from Philly.

  2. The thing that makes me think it's real, is that it just makes too much sense. The Eagles have an extra #2 and they have in fact shown interest in Alex. Also, after reading Ruskell's comments earlier, I definitely got the sense that they want Alexander gone.
Funny, this is the exact trade that I thought of months ago while we were all still on the P-I. As I remember nearly everyone thought it was a good idea that made alot of sense then.

  3. I heard something about this last night, but it depended on Indy unloading James, Westbrook going to Indy, and Alexander going to Philly. The problem was in Indy unloading the Edge.

This is 'pretty good' news. To be honest, I think his running will be missed. But imagine a RB that can catch a screen pass...

    Nice scoop monkey!!!

  4. I could still turn out to be wrong Bluefoot, so far it is very early in the rumor stages, but I think it will turn out to be right, we'll see.

  6. There is something fishy about it -- If Ruskell already said he is willing to trade straight up for a #2 pick, why would Philly give a #2 + Westbrook?

  7. I like this trade...this may seem a little picky, but I only like this trade if we get Miami's 2nd rounder...I would hate it if we got Philly's 2nd rounder...Philly is practically in the 3rd round

I dunno...either way it isnt too bad...

it seems like Westbrook was made for a west coast offense...and this will help Morris' value...as he will get more runs...Holmgren would have some fun making screens with our oline and Westbrook...

  8. Here's something else, now that Taylor has signed with the Vikes, and Huff has signed with the Cards, that leaves the number of teams hot after Harwell at one, the Seahawks, and with Taylor gone, and the Redskins wanting a #4 for Gardner and the Vikes out of the running for him...
Well, here we go, we trade Alex for a #2 and Westbrook, sign Hartwell, trade that extra #4 for Gardner, and voila! Presto, instant offense.

  9. If we're willing to let Shaun go staraight up for a #2, there is NO WAY Philly is going to give up a #2 AND Westbrook.

Maybe one or the other, but not both.

  10. You might be right Bluefoot, we'll see.
I actually kinda like this trade and hope it happens.

  11. Guys, we're getting all excited about an unsubstantiated post by and anonymous subscriber on an open web board.

There's nothing on KFFL, the Eagles site, or anywhere else about it. (and the Eagles are a SB runner up on the East coast, so you KNOW if someone sneezes in Philly it's front page news at ESPN!)

I'm hoping it's true, since there's also nothing on KFFL regarding the Fisher signing, but remember, if it SOUNDS too good to be true, it PROBABLY IS!

Hate to be the wet blanket here. C'mon Ruskie...prove me wrong!!!

  12. No Alba, you aren't being a wet blanket at all, like I said, this may prove to be wrong.

  13. Hey Blue, why don't you grab that picture of Lonely Shaun from teh Seahawks.bomb site and paste it in with this post too.

  14. I'll pos the pic if monkey wants it. It's his post.

I'm actually in favor of the trade, too. I'm a Shaun fan and in my gut I'm a smashmouth guy over a WC offense guy, but honestly Westbrook fits in with Holmgren's scheme better.

  15. Bluefoot, from this day forward I hereby give you permission to attach any pics that you think would enhance any of my posts.

BTW, "I'm actually in favor of the trade, too. I'm a Shaun fan and in my gut I'm a smashmouth guy over a WC offense guy, but honestly Westbrook fits in with Holmgren's scheme better."

    Exactly how I feel, EXACTLY!

  17. I'm curious how you guys think that Alexander plays anything cloely resembling 'smash mouth' football. If smash mouth is compared to boxing then Alexander is more of a judo guy.

He may wear ya out duckin' and dodgin' but he's not going to knock ya out.
