Burgess Visiting Seahawks

According to the Seattle Times, Derrick Burgess, UFA from the Philadelphia Eagles, is to be in Seattle tonight to visit with Seahawks personnel on Thursday.

Burgess 26, 6 feet 2 and 266 pounds, is a speed rusher who defends the run well. In the NFC title game against the Atlanta Falcons, he sacked quarterback Michael Vick twice.

Although he has struggled with some injuries, he is one of those 'character' guys.

According to www.philadelphiaeagles.com:

Burgess was the recipient of the 2004 Ed Block Courage Award. Each year, this award honors those National Football League players who exemplify commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. They are selected in a vote by their teammates for team effort as well as individual performance.

Sounds like leadership we could use, according to Chike "I love football more than everyone else" Okeafor. I prefer this signing over the others, based on personality alone.

  1. Derrick Burgess completed his visit yesterday and moved on to meet with the Oakland Raiders without being made a contract offer.

    Not even an offer.

    *sigh*
