Why sign a corner?

We do not need another high priced corner, our corners will be fine Taylor was banged up last year but did not forget how to play cornerback and he is not that old.Trufant is going to be a stud,Richard has never gotten an oppertunity to show his talent. Our need for a linebackers and pass rush is way more pressing.

And why can I post new threads but my comments are not showing.huh blue.

  1. Basically I agree with you shonuff. I too think that Taylor will be fine, after all, when we signed him last year he was supposed to be our starter opposite Tru.
I still wouldn't mind a Surtain deal though, but I agree that pass rush is more important.

  2. What? So we only interview for one position at a time? We could use another experienced Corner, who knows what Richard has, and whether Taylor's the guy for the job, Surtain would be a huge addition to the secondary, and that being the case they're doing the right thing interviewing for the job, 'while' interviewing DEs and LBs.

    Take a chill pill Sho.

  3. Here's my line of thinking on teh corner situation.

We brought in Taylor to be the Starter and he was beaten out by Lucas, who while good last season, still blew a lot of coverages and was penalized a lot against better WRs.

So if Lucas was better than Taylor and Surtain is obviously better than Lucas wouldn't it be the right move to at least talk to Surtain?

  4. Vinny, you're forgetting that Taylor wasn't beat out of the starting job so much as he was injured and Lucas just had a very good season.

BTW Vinny, read the shout out chatterbox. I am applying for membership of the trade Alexander club now that he is threatening to hold out. Boy that pi$$es me off! No way should he be even thinking about holding out!

  5. Monkey, actually he played in every game till Nov 28th, so I beleive he actually did lose the starting job to Lucas. But I'll check Squidly's site and check the archives.

  6. Accoring to the PI back in September the Depth Chart had Lucas starting and there's no word on an injury to Lucas. I'll e-mail Clare and find out for sure.

  7. I think you are right Vinny, good catch on that one. I thought he got hurt earlier, but I was wrong.
In any case, I still think that pass rush should be the priority though I certainly agree that interviewing several different positions is the way to go. Like I said, I would love to see Surtain in a Hawks jersey. I also would be happy with Dyson, though he's no Surtain but would be cheaper.
In a wat I agree with both of you, I think that pass rush should be the priority, but that doesn't mean to the exclusion of CB help. We need both right now, though I think pass rush we need more.
