Wortham is an extremely strong player who also displays above-average speed and agility. He has a durable frame with a V-shaped torso and room for additional growth … He shows good intent and strong leg drive attacking the gaps, but needs to keep his hands active to prevent blockers from getting into his body. He fills the rush lanes with power and takes on blockers with force at the point of attack … Wortham is quick to fill the rush lanes and stuff back the fullback, if he has a crease. He dives and gives up his body to make the plays in goal-line situations. He is still a work in progress, but later in the 2004 season, he showed improved hand usage to stack and control with force … When Wortham stays low in his pads, he can collide, gain leverage and pop blockers in stride … Wortham can easily reroute the tight ends and backs in the short area when he keeps his hands active … He is best when picking up plays in front of him, as he can take better angles, extend his arms, wrap and secure the ball carrier … He has the power to shock and jolt, the speed to make plays down the line and a willingness to learn. Put this kid back on the outside and just let him play up to his physical abilities and not his mental limitations (poor read-and-react skills).

  1. I like this pick somewhat...but it just adds to the confusion on defense regarding the depth chart...whose 2nd string, 3rd, and 4th and such...

  2. Even though it was a late pick, I can't help but think, "was he Worth-'em?" :-)

  4. This kid would have been then all time tackle leader at Alabama if he hadn't be injured as a Jr.
Seattle got a late draft steal in CW
He'll be a special teams standout early, and probably a fixture at outside linebacker for the next 5 years. Not an all pro, but lambs out of the backfield will know that there is a new sheriff in town.
