Some Salary Cap Figures

I'm going to keep this short and to the point, because you all should click on the shortcut and read the original article it's a terrific breakdown of the Seahawks salary figures.

Here's some of the main points for those too lazy to read the whole article.

As of right now, the Seahawks are exactly $565,000 under the salary cap.

If the Hawks were to cut Chad Brown, they would save another $2.37 million, giving them a total of $2,937,000 under the cap.

Cutting Bobby Taylor, (which would make more sense to do after June 1) would also save some money, enough so that the $3 mil, offered to Sharper is realistic but still cutting it very close. Of course all of this could be avoided if these two guys, would restructure.

The bad part is that there is also currently $9 mil in dead money out there right now and if the Hawks do cut Brown, that number goes up to $12 mil.

Read the article, it's well worth it.

  1. Geez, Monkey, you really can't stand it when your post isn't on top, can you!!! (just kidding)

I read this before leaving work and thought about posting it here too. Good job digging up Seahawks news while we're all holding our collective breath for some news on Sharper.

  2. The guy's great if you assume that we'd be better off without Chad. I personally don't.
